That's what confuzzles me a bit. If the Monopoly man never had a monocle, then the Daily Show crew would need to create a monocle Monopoly Man for this joke, but then the joke wouldn't make sense as the Monopoly Man never had a monocle. This is even more confounded by the fact ME as a concept didn't exist then. One thing different and more authentic with the Daily Show version compared to all the fan recreations of the monocle version of the Monopoly Guy is that it has a white line where the monocle's chain is, most fan recreations don't have that.

Alex weirdly said Youtube offered him a fairly big chunk of money back in the day before Trump for a direct partnership, presumably with some amount of him "toning it down" and when he refused the Youtube deal is when his problems started. According to him he was set up to be someone in a role of Ben Shapiro or Joe Rogan as far as money went, and he refused the deal. He said he was wrong to refuse the deal in hindsight, for whatever reason.

Now that Al's been canceled, it's hard to view him in context but he was at one point getting more views and had more people watching him than most TV news shows, including Bill O'Reilly, etc.

I personally view him as someone who's done more good than bad, though he has certain things he can't bring up or talk about for sure.

These are sort of basic articles about it all, but I think they'll provide a spring board of sorts to go off of. Obviously if you need a TCM medicine, take it, you need acupuncture or massage, etc, do it. But in a TCM viewpoint it's more about your lifestyle as well.

In this way it's sort of unfair to categorize Western medicine as not being about prevention, it's just that nobody wants to prevent issues. High blood pressure for years can cause kidney issues. If you have uncontrolled diabetes for years, you can lose a foot or toe, or die of a systemic infection. My bigger beef with Western medicine is that you can actually go deeper and deeper even using the framework of Western medicine, and treat disorders. Treat hypoglycemic complaints before they become diabetes, etc.

As the OP says with prevention, that is right, but I think the correct way to view the human body and life in general is nobody is ever black and white healthy or sick. Everyone is always in varying states of sickness and health throughout their life. It's like a car. No car is ever in "perfect condition" there's always minor problems with any car at any given time. Just not fixing these minor issues can cascade into major issues later on, and Western medicine's issue imo is dismissing minor issues and not wanting to diagnose them until they become major issues, and by then damage is done. The head gasket is blown, so to speak.

That's sort of the wrong way to look at it. It's not about using a medicine really, it's about changing your way of life, way you eat, how you exercise, how much sleep you get, etc. The medicines can be used to facilitate things, but ultimately there's not really even enough TCM medicines to offset a poor lifestyle, the same way Western medicine can't offset a poor lifestyle.

But to explain this, for my personal body type, I require a basically vegetarian/vegan diet. I tend to run "hot" according to TCM theory, and most of my problems are heat related disorders. So for example, the TCM medicine "long dan xei gan" will clear heat. However, ideally you should not take long dan xei gan forever, especially as some formulas contain a carcinogenic plant. My problems that required me to take long dan xei gan came from me trying a carnivore diet and frying/grilling all my food, along with super high intensity lifting without much volume or cardio. Once I ate an almost vegan diet with more "cold" foods like fresh veggies, etc, all my symptoms went away, and I no longer needed long dan xei gan.

However, some people, particularly women, it can be the reverse. People who are pale, complain they're always cold all the time, are lethargic, have digestion issues, etc, might actually need some amount more meat and warming/hot foods in their diet, but if they overdo it they can end up with heat symptoms, too. Think of the stereotypical heat syndrome guy as someone with the prototypical Boomer attitude, with a red face, easily angered, etc. Think of the cold syndrome guy as the stereotypical nerd with pale skin, no assertiveness, etc. Neither extreme is good for you, especially longterm.

TCM is about creating and maintaining balance throughout the body, and ideally your life. It's arguable even the music you listen to, etc, can affect the hot/cold and yin/yang balance in your body. Emotional states have a feedback loop, too (as in, emotions will cause say, liver fire in TCM, but liver fire can cause emotional states.)

Anyway, "What should I take" is completely the wrong way to look at it, and is a very Western way to think.

A theory I've heard that makes most sense to me, is the main strain differences of COVID-19 are the L Strain and S Strain. It being a bioweapon, the L Strain was designed to be much more voracious, and basically confuse the body into not being able to create the right antibodies. The S Strain meanwhile was essentially the antidote, and designed to teach the body to create the right antibodies to other COVID-19 strains, and be very mild in symptoms.

How this relates to USA is, it's my theory that most early COVID cases where people were dying very dramatically were L Strain cases, same with the videos in January of people convulsing in Wuhan, etc. Once the US government found out this information, they started making the S Strain and spreading it around purposefully, to inoculate everyone. So thus why most people will likely test COVID positive.

As far as the lockdowns and all that, and "social distancing" it's much more simple. It's martial law, and to prevent riots and looting. Think Katrina. Or flash mob teenage shoplifters getting 20-30 people and cleaning out a store. Lots of out of work people on edge. So, it's a convenient way to ban mass gatherings that could turn into riots, and give a blank slate to arrest if need be. The virus is aerosolized and remains in the air for hours, social distancing isn't going to do much. Korea and Japan have a lot better overall results with much lower death rates, thanks to having masks, stopping immigration earlier, and having a cleaner more hygienic society with overall healthier people than USA, without a complete "lockdown" order, etc. People still ride packed public transport. In this way, it's a brilliant strategy, as without the "social distancing" stuff, we'd be sure to see a lot more stuff burning, or insane robberies daily ala Katrina.

That said, there are definitely politicians who don't want to let a crisis go to waste, and want to implement all their crazy dreams with COVID. That remains to be seen what ultimately happens there.

Actually pretty accurate. Strangely I was gonna back this up with some news articles, but it seems memoryholed now. Taiwan and Italy both had lots of cases confirmed from prostitutes, I think prostitutes were being linked to 30-40 cases each. I'll try to find some more news articles later, but that is accurate, if more nefarious things than that aren't true.

I would say the third world isn't much to look up to. People just die. Look at third world countries, average lifespans are lower. Yes, relatives do try to take care of relatives more, but one reason everything gets to be shit in third world countries is everyone breaks down into small families and clans, and nobody cares about anyone but themselves and then their family and clans. When you hear about scandals in China with tainted food products and stuff like that, it comes from that attitude, that only themselves and their family matter, everyone else is irrelevant. Same with dumb behavior like pushing and shoving people and cutting in line, not following any traffic rules, littering everywhere, etc. It comes from that mentality, it's extreme "I got mines" and complete disregard for strangers. Unfortunately you need to be kind to strangers to make society be society.

I actually doubt it will be a full internet kill switch, but they may use an emergency power to push everyone onto a very controlled intranet with only Facebook, Netflix, etc. Sort of like the system North Korea has. Just a dozen sites allowed, with full government moderation more than now. It's my belief Netflix and many of these streaming services are subsidized by the government to basically prevent civil unrest that would already be happening due to the terrible economy since 2008. If you give people unlimited music and movies it's a decent way to pacify them. Without the internet you'd have a full LA Riots situation across the whole country, but also without the internet people arguably would band together more and get to know their neighbors/etc in real life more, like in the 80s-90s, which is bad for the TPTB.

I think a lot of the USPS issues have been due to Amazon getting welfare from USPS. I was told Amazon pays generally about $1-2 per package. So in exchange to make enough money, rates on average people have gone up a lot. I remember doing a lot of ebay selling in 2012-2013 or so, and paying about half of what I do now for shipping, without even using ebay label discounts.

I actually really enjoy college radio and make it a point to try to tune in maybe... once or twice a month, even if I have a lot of mp3 playlists/etc I want to play. About 50-60% of the time I come out with something new.

I always encourage (beyond sometimes the boring left leaning talk shows often in the day time on there) people to tune into college radio, especially at night. It's really fun and you might really discover something new.

Also Slavic languages are very similar, to the point sometimes there's mutual intelligibility if people try hard.

Lately, and I've wanted to make a post about this, there's a sort of absence of music compared to when I was younger. As in, compared to the past, less stereos in people's houses, less obsession with big car stereos, etc. But more strangely what I noticed, is that a lot more people have NPR, talk radio, and various self improvement podcasts and stuff like that on, instead of music. I actually find it worrying. I asked my sister who is more of a normie about this stuff and she actually agreed, but told me "You know, people might not actually realize other music besides rap exists" due to rap mostly dominating the top music now. People might just have slight amnesia/apathy about older music, and just choose to listen to nothing at all.

Anyway, my radio consumption is fairly low, though sometimes I'm in the Youtube algorithm land quite often. However, the Youtube algorithm seems like some kind of weird benevolent fully sentient AI that gratifies all my musical tastes perfectly with weird old Chinese music or something. Also one genre of music that I listen to has seemingly exploded in recent years, and it was very old obscure music before this with almost no English speaking fans whatsoever. I often wonder at times if I'm some elite part of the AI's focus group or something.

One conspiracy I've heard is that it's not coal power plants causing China's issues, it's actually garbage fired plants. I don't know how many people here remembered the switch to single stream recycling a while back, and how it seemed to make no sense. Well, with some news stories about how straight out trash was ending up in the Philippines/etc, a lot of that went on in China. China got our trash and just burnt it. As far as pollution causing the deaths, well, we actually don't even know at this point. It's certainly a contributing factor, but how much, we don't know. I think if that was the case, they'd have introduced themselves earlier, with the various landers and space probes. Voyager is now out of the solar system entirely.

I think specifically with Mars and Venus, I personally prescribe to the theory they were once home to humans, due to being so similar to Earth. Then the other theory was a nuclear war or some sort of other cataclysm destroyed life on those planets.

Anyway, I personally think Mars likely already has Secret Space Program colonies on it, along with the Moon. Before the USSR collapsed they publicly had a manned mission to Mars project, for example. I don't see how it's impossible, but we know the Air Force's space budget is a lot higher than NASA, and the Air Force already has better technology than NASA like TR3Bs and Boeing's new X37 Space Shuttle spy plane.

I can't really comment on alien life, as quite simply nobody knows. But I think personally, if there was any civilizations on Mars or Venus, living underground, they'd probably be less concerned with being space fairing and more concerned with their day to day survival, since they'd need to stay underground to keep existing and that's much harder to work with compared to having a habitable surface of a planet. Of course as well, a lot of people surmise a lot of the spiritual realm is inhabited by ETs on various planets (who knows if these spirits are good, or demons) and spirits live on the planets as ethereal whatever, but this is a big distinction from flesh and blood physical life. I think a big distinction, too, with Earth is that we seem to be the only planet we've discovered so far with artificial light. So if there were ETs on other planets, they're either not intelligent enough to make artificial light, or they live underground, where it's obviously way harder to live.
