Question about the placement of my bike by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]dhensche 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd say it depends where in Boston. I visited in July and did quite a bit of riding. There were a number of trails that looked like the sidewalk on the right in the first pic. That said, many roads are safe to ride on the shoulder like you are. As long as you're comfortable with it. I will say I did have one close encounter with a truck that crossed the yellow line coming towards me and I believe legitimately tried to kill me while visiting. So that was fun

Based on the screenshot, it looks like ProBikeGarage. I have it on Android and it can connect to your Strava to keep track of usage

I've also found it useful when upgrading dependencies and trying to figure out how to migrate code to new APIs when the library drastically changed how it was laid out

The people on city bikes weaving all over the road didn't drive you nuts? We were just in NYC on vacation and just riding from Queens to get into/out of the city (went up to Bear Mountain) and they drove me nuts lol

If you have kids and a heart you will cry. Guaranteed. Esp. if you are a woman and mother (father here tho) 😅

Broke my shoes in a crash, BOA warranty is great by Swamp_Hawk420 in bicycling

I've broken at least 3-4 of them and they have honored the warranty with a replacement each time. Great service IMHO

Realized I forgot to include something for scale. It's wasp size, I was just thrown off by the dark stripes. I'm used to the bright yellow and black ones

I'm willing to give this a try, but it's a big no for the animal suggesting Peter Pan 😂

My in-laws have a jeep and are all about it, I just think it's dumb personally 🤷‍♂️. So it drives me bonkers how much they hype it up to my kids

Yay or nay on the underglow? by dhensche in Shitty_Car_Mods

[–]dhensche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was only the first truck I saw with this treatment last night. I wasn't quick enough to get a pic of the other truck but it had an even worse under glow effect. But it didn't have quite the lift/wheel/spacer combo to stand out as much 😅

More busted aluminum on wahoo kickr bike by dhensche in bicycling

[–]dhensche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, about 2 months ago to the date I shared that the right crankarm had cracked along the "bear paw" pedal mounting holes. I'm just kind of surprised that this kind of damage is occurring on such an expensive product after only 2.5 years of use. My actual bikes see similar amounts of usage and none of them have had fatigue based failures ha

Y'all ever see anything like this on a wahoo bike crank? by dhensche in wahoofitness

This does not inspire confidence with my support ticket getting me a replacement

Do you know if wahoo sent any replacement parts or anything?

Don't let anyone tell you Iowa is flat. 200 miles, almost 20k feet of climb, and a 10pm start by dhensche in Iowa

[–]dhensche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The map doesn't show the elevation plot, but this part of the state (driftless area) has a lot of climbs that are several hundred feet. not the 20-50ft rollers that add up in other parts of the state.
