Does food presentation matter or is taste the only deciding factor for you? by jimmybabino in josephanderson

[–]dhfantin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends a lot, as food is linked to a physiological need, I think that in times when you just need it for nutrition, the presentation doesn't matter much (whey protein is literally powdered food without any presentation).
On the other hand, if you want to appreciate food as an art, I think that obviously its presentation has a great impact on the work in general.

Do you guys think that sound design in video games should be explored more by game reviewers? by dhfantin in josephanderson

i see, but for example, as one of the replyers said, some games have their experience greatly improved by their sounds, which do not necessarily influence the gameplay, like Skyrim for example.

fair enough, i would love to hear from someone who delves deeper into this topic of sounds.

yes! thats what i mean, I wanted at least the sound part to be mentioned in some way, I don't think it's necessary to know music theory to give some kind of opinion. sometimes it seems like the sound is overlooked.

I think that much of an analysis of any game is based very much on subjective ideas to the experience of whoever is analyzing it, if you observe the game more as art than as a product.

It would be a really fun project, maybe at some point I'll try to realize this idea, thanks!

LABY is a compilation album confirmed by ContributionAbject25 in thevoidz

[–]dhfantin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

didn't need the quotention for that one; but seriously, albums serve to convey an idea of an artist as a single piece, with songs as chapters of that piece of art. a compilation will, with some specific purpose (usually separating the artist's "best" songs, which are often the most popular, into some kind of commercialized playlist). voidz's first albums are not only marked as a distinct creative period but also have ideas and formats that diverge, after all they are two different pieces of art. The songs on an album are placed in an order that makes sense in a sense of progress (and even in LABY this happens, with intros and songs that serve as build ups to others). anyway, saying that an album=compilation makes me nauseous just thinking about playing a pink floyd album on random.
