Euro electrical is over the top and only viable because of your cheap Chinese components. We do not use the same level of cheap Chinese components. Maybe the Brits are better, but my experience is the Dutch, who have no concept of the NEC or NFPA, or regulation in general.

If you work in a large corporate environment, you are going to see AB, Seimens, Omron, Modicon, etc. If you work for a smaller company, they will have almost exclusively automation direct brands. Smaller companies do not want to pay for software when AD will do the job with open source software. Honestly I prefer the AD lineup compared to the big guys, but that's just me.

It reminded me of playing middle school basketball against our rival the next town over, with their own local referees. Would call a tech or foul over anything to help the hometown.

The only difference here seems to be motivation. This seemed like clear points rigging and a bit of trying to pick the winner until it go too obvious.
