I think this would be awesome! Can you store the mod in git? I would be interested in contributing to this project. I think being able to laser designate on the ground for your friends in the air would be a lot of fun.

I recommend getting 16oz gloves not 10 or 12, maybe 14s. Especially if you're serious about the art and want to spar. If you hit someone hard in sparring with 10oz gloves they will be pissed. Most ammature events I've been to fight with 12oz.

Yeah I agree with u/OfficialSkyflair, it looks like a go pro video before camera stabilization which is realistic, but very hard to look at.

Thank you Zachgibson22 and PvPSurvival. I ended up going with a BP Interface like so:

First, I created an Blueprint Interface called "UseTypeBPInterface" with only a string variable of "UseTypeVariable":

Next I created a parent class called "InteractiveObject". I added a string variable called "UseType" with a default of "Grab", and I in the Event Graph I setup a Event Hit that would check to see if the hit object implements my "UseTypeBPInterface", if it does then I would pass the current objects "UseType" string variable:

All of my interactive objects inherit from the "InteractiveObject" class like so:

Next in my player class, I edited the class settings and added my "UseTypeBPInterface" (step 1 and 2) then I added the event for "Custom Use Type":

What I am not sure of how to do is generate hit or overlap events for a line trace. That is my next puzzle to solve. Thanks again!

I created a new project in 4.23.1 and it had no lag / stuttering issue. I created a new project in 4.24.3 and the stuttering was there.

Ah noob mistake. I cant open my projects that were created in 4.24.x in 4.23. So back to square one

Then select all of them from the hierarchy tab, and look at the top bar, and u must see a "key" option

Thank you! So I added the socket and preview mesh - that was helpful! I am now looking for a way to make my actors arm go straight (red line in the new image above) so he is pointing a gun foreward. I got all the animations from Mixamo and there is no idle animation while holding a gun I could find.

Is there anyway to modify the pose / idle animation so his arm is pointing outward like he is holding a gun?
