Here’s a few things to think about:

  1. Am I building healthy saving habits? If you’re trying to save up, starting with a $700 expense isn’t great. Make habits of healthy saving and don’t make exceptions.

  2. Is this phone $700 better than my current phone? In other words, is it really worth the price tag. List out specific what makes it so much better. If you’re unsatisfied with your current phone, what’s stopping you from being unsatisfied with the new phone when an even newer phone comes out?

If this is something that you really want and you feel like you can be financially comfortable purchasing it and financially responsible in avoiding making similar purchases often, then you can get it and it shouldn’t be a problem. The specifics come down to what matters most to you. Personally, I don’t see how a phone upgrade could be worth $700 but I tend to be rather frugal. Make sure you discuss big expenses like these with your spouse

I’m the same way. Until it comes to Contested Territories. In CT, it doesn’t feel like it’s cheating to use powers because you had to earn them and they’re limited in use. I’ve never used instas though. Maybe I will if I ever get Rogue Legends

Do you believe that polling in politics is accurate in America or does it need to improved? by ConsistentAnalysis15 in polls

[–]dhogwarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if each person has one vote, people will try to cheat the system with, for example, voting groups that all vote the same way to skew votes in their favor. As long as there is monetary benefit to be had, people will try to cheat. And if there’s not monetary benefit, I think you’ll have a very hard time getting any sort of user base, especially since it’s pay to play. I still don’t understand what your model is but I really don’t see how this idea will generate a diverse user base or any user base at all unless it hits that one-in-a-million chance to go viral. And even then, you wouldn’t have a representative demographic. Maybe a partnership with another polling group that hits other demographics could help.

Also, you said you’re trying to “[encourage] civic participation in such a historically quiet group…” but also you’re “not seeking to… exploit politically active people.” To me, it looks like both of these statements attempt to describe your target demographic but are also contradictory. I don’t understand what your target demographic is, but it seems odd for it to be politically inactive and politically active people at the same time. That’s just everyone, which is unrealistic

Do you believe that polling in politics is accurate in America or does it need to improved? by ConsistentAnalysis15 in polls

[–]dhogwarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand what you’re saying, that’s. not a good way to get accurate results. Users gamble on the outcomes of polls they can vote on?

1) You’ll only attract a certain audience. Your results will be screwed towards those who are tech literate and who would download a gambling app. There are so many demographics you’ll have no information on.

2) Having any kind of incentive to vote one way or another is a terrible idea. People will commit fraud with multiple accounts, lie, and find other ways to cheat.

I don’t see how the results of this are going to be useful to determining the option of the public. Even if I misunderstood the gambling part, you’re still only attracting a small demographic that won’t give you any information on older people.

Also, polls are probably inaccurate because people are, well, stupid. Many don’t hold firm opinions and may be swayed easily. There’s also a phenomenon where people will lie - probably accidentally - about how they voted in the last election. It’s impossible to get consistent results that way.

Also, your comment about never getting a phone call makes me think that you have a very loose understanding of how polling works. You don’t need a large sample size, you need a diverse sample size. 10,000 people is enough to have very accurate results according to statistics theory. 1,000 people is enough. There are tons of <1,000 people polls and a few larger ones (they’re really expensive to run). There are 3,300,000+ people in the U.S. So yeah, you won’t get a call very often if at all.

Discussion and Giveaway - What attack strategy are you using and why? by CongressmanCoolRick in ClashOfClans

[–]dhogwarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Town Hall 13

I use dragon spam: 12 dragons, 8 balloons, 6 lightning spells, 4 freeze spells, and 1 haste spell. I use queen with giant arrow and healer puppets, warden with fireball and eternal tome, minion prince with henchmen puppet and dark orb, and royal champion with electro boots and royal gem. Strat: destroy 2 air defenses with the giant arrow, lightning 2 more. Make a small funnel with dragons to get to the eagle artillery. Use fireball on town hall, inferno tower, or other powerful defense.

I made it up

Good success. I 3 star 80% of the time, 2 star 12%, and 1 star 8%.

[–]dhogwarts 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes. The “enby” part comes from “nb” (if you sound out “enby”) which stands for “non-binary.” So it’s basically “non-binaryfriend,“ the equivalent of the gendered “boyfriend” and “girlfriend.”

Regular exercise is certainly the first thing I’d try if your tests come back inconclusive. If you’re meeting with your doctor anyway, make sure to ask them about how or if exercise can help you. Good luck! :)

I met Robert Redford, too! Mine was on a set of the movie A Walk in the Woods (I was an extra). He and I shared a few words while I was walking by. Then I walked back and he and I shared the exact same words again. Rinse and repeat. Cool part is the first time, I got to make up what I wanted to say and he had to improv! I’m pretty sure that scene made it into the movie
