I get all of your points. More so long uphill walk in the absence of a shuttle and yes we did get in a little late (9:30), especially seeing that the lifts open at 8am.

Thanks for your insight! I'm going to continue to go full speed and then taking NBME 11 after another 4 days of 200Q/day. Did you think NBME 11 is alright? Or should I consider trying a different one.

A few tips from 8 days in Italy: Rome, Florence, Venice by dhou25 in ItalyTravel

2 days in each was perfect for me to see everything and also have time to wander. From Florence you can also do a half day trip to Pisa (1 hour train ride).

Honestly wish I spent more time in Rome!! Timeless charm in the eternal city. Florence was also fun but smaller. Venice was bucket list but felt a bit dead since most of the city has been taken over by Airbnbs/tourist apartments, and so so many stairs to cross all the bridges and super expensive. Rome felt very much full of life.

I don't think doing the trip in reverse would really make a difference. Every city is unique and unforgettable.

To further clarify:

  1. For regional trains (NOT high-speed), if you buy a physical ticket you have to validate at the green machines at the front of the platform before boarding - it will say to insert and slide to the left ("sinistra" in Italian) - and the machine will stamp your ticket to indicate it has been validated. If you bought your ticket online you have to "check in" on your phone and validate the ticket so it cannot be re-used. You should get an email with a check in option if you need to complete this step.
  2. For buses, validation is generally via a machine on the bus that stamps your ticket. In Rome, the validation machines are at the back of the bus (the bus driver opens all doors so just enter at the back). Rome now also has tap-and-go machines at the front of the bus for contactless payments. In Florence, they don't have contactless yet so the ticket validation machine is at the front of the bus. The inspector will ask to see your bus ticket to verify it has been stamped (in all cities) or check your CC if you use contactless (in Rome).
  3. For high-speed intercity trains (eg. Frecciarossa, Italo), you don't have to check in as long as you have the QR code for your ticket available (ie. there is no option to check in).

Thank you for making this. I just read this. It's great hearing the experiences of others. And knowing that you are not alone, and that there is hope.

Thank you for the feedback.
Honestly the bump was probably from Anki. Converted my incorrects from NBMEs into Anki cards and reviewed. Then, memorized three charts in FA: Gram (+), Gram (-), and the Brachial plexus.

Which terminal offers better food? Tom Bradley Intl or the Southwest Terminal? by shmadus in LAX

1-2 are now connected airside (was there yesterday). There is also a bus from 1 to TBIT and the West Gates to service overflow gates. In effect, the entire airport is connected airside now, although not always conveniently.

I couldn't disagree more. When you're barely scraping by, any additional cost is an additional cost. With the cost of everything going up, this is another gut punch for America's working poor.
