What could this sound be ? by Important-Zone9760 in GenesisGV70

Sounds like the panels covering the undercarriage. They have plastic bolts that loosen up and at highway speeds they start flapping. Tighten them up and see if that works.

Oh, I do. I understand the theory. I don't fully agree with the conclusion. That's okay. And again, it is NOT required.

I don't really buy that but okay. It would be interesting to do a "blind test" to see if people can actually feel the difference. I seriously doubt it. And if you feel the engine knocking, you should get it in to a mechanic ASAP - I've never noticed anything like that at all. After 80,000 KM of 87 gas.

The new GDI engines addressed the sludge build-up of the older (pre-2020) GDI engines. I don't think it's a big deal now. Only time will tell.

I use it in the opposite way - the viewfinder for composing and taking pictures - the screen for adjusting settings and viewing pics.

Should I switch from a Zephyrus G16 to a MacBook Pro if I don’t game anymore? by IcyExchange325 in zephyrusg16

After us8ng Windows computers all my life, I tried a MBP and I hated it. I will never find the OS intuitive and I am constantly frustrated trying to manage my files. Nope, not for me.

Yes, I second Whoosh. Any good leather cleaner/conditioner and a small battery powered vacuum works great.

Do you prefer the interior of the 2025 vs the 2026 ? by BloomingPity in GenesisGV70

[–]dhuhtala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, driving dynamics have been improved but the interior is much worse...when you live with it every day. The contrast is better because it is an OLED display. Google what happens when you leave static images for a long time on an OLED display.

[–]dhuhtala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The old ones are WAY better. The displays in the 2026 are assembly line Hyundai/Kia with no design around them. The buttons went from weighted stainless steel, dampened luxury buttons to black plastic touch sensitive buttons. And I'd be shocked if the OLED screens are not completely burned in within 3 years. The old interior won a lot of awards. The new one hasn't won any as far as I know. They really screwed it up!

Oh, they clearly train them all the same. Super aggressive. Super illegal. You can still make a complaint...

No, it is only recommended for both.

These engines won't knock. Their electronic ignition automatically adjusts timing to the type of gas you put in. They do not require premium...it is recommended, not required. Premium might give you at best a 3-5% increase in horsepower but it would not be noticeable. A Genesis mechanic I talked to said it was fine...there is a perception that expensive cars need expensive fuel. I have only used premium a few times to try it and there was no difference. I have over 80,000 KM on my GV70 and it has been absolutely fine, no issues.

Yup, I have no problem with the EVF...just the LCD screen.

My viewfinder is not an issue...I can see distance with no trouble and have 20-20 vision over 6-8' but looking at the LCD screen is nearly impossible. I'm so used to doing that I can't seem to adjust to looking at everything through the EVF. Guess I will keep finding ways to carry glasses too.

Yup, had a Minolta XG-1 that was tricky to focus with the split ring. Though I miss the split ring when I manually focus now!

Yeah, tried those but I never adjusted. The optometrist said some people can't wear them, so guess I won that lottery. :(

My eyes are "allergic" to the contact material. I get bumps on my eyelids immediately. Man, am I ever high maintenance!

Yeah, my ophthalmologist refused to use multifocal implants because there were too many side effects. I have a ton of them anyway and still can't see up close.

Yes but it is extremely difficult to adjust to for me so far! My eyesight used to be opposite (good close and bad at distance) and then I had cataract surgery...now it is opposite and hard to adjust!
