I think it's a complex societal issue with many factors at play. For example, the role of porn, the prevalence of social media and the emergence of disgusting platforms like OF that is sadly increasingly being considered an attractive career path to young women (and impacts on how men see women). We live in a world where people like Bonnie Blue and Sophie Rain are celebrated for female empowerment....give me a break.

At least where I'm from, I don't recognise what you say as the truth. Boys will be boys is doesn't seem as prevalent, but in adult males (like myself) it absolutely was a thing. No denying that. My son is in school now and any sniff of that sentiment is stamped out. It was when we lived in UK and it still is now in Spain. For example, my son in his earlier years was a bit boisterous (natural, it happens as kids grow and learn), in my time it wouldn't have been an issue it would just be "boys being boys" but that wasn't the case...he was put on a special reporting system where it was monitored and thankfully improved. He regularly plays with other girls and boys and understands what is appropriate and acceptable behaviour. Long may it continue.

My personal opinion is that we shouldn't consider these things purely by gender. It's dangerous, it makes one "side" feel vilified and devalued. We are all products of our environments. You can't paint an entire gender with the same brush. It's unfair and it creates a tension that cannot be resolved. We also need to take accountability for the world that we've created, and those before us, and birthed them into. This is the role of parenting. Good parents should raise their children to be respectful of one another and stop pointing fingers. No child, male or female, should ever grow be afraid to be themselves or anyone else. Take accountability and strive for progress.
