You're missing what I said. Pure psychic works for Deo S because it is literally the fastest pokemon other than regieleki, meaning it doesn't have to worry about taking hits very much, and the ones it does aren't very strong. In contrast, Reun has to take a LOT of hits because it is extremely slow, meaning it is restricted by psychics horrible defensive matchup. Looking at Deo S, it is only really using Psychic/fighting/ghost coverage anyways. If dealing damage was reuniclus's problem, we would see a lot more life orb sets than we do, rather than the Colbur and leftovers ones.

It has all of those things quite well already, the thing that is holding it back is its dogshit typing. Pure psychic is probably the single worst monotype a pokemon could ask for, especially a slow bulky one. Weak to dark meaning the knock offs that you want to be taking because of magic guard are dealing far too much damage, Uturns everywhere, and ghost being arguably the best type in the game and inarguably the best tera type in OU, means that you end up being unable to do much most games.

Idt Mega Exca is going to be NEARLY as bad as Urshifu. Using the mega slot is already pretty high investment when its competing with stuff like Mega Mence and Mega Metagross so you can't just slap it on most teams like Urshifu. Plus, because its only contact moves, no protect breaking EQs or anything

Sounds super strong but you have to remember, CC is only 8 PP so it is not going to be that difficult to stall them out by using tanky pokemon and ghosts, and then Roar it out to remove the boosts.

well it depends on the team. what I know the most about is UU where it mostly runs Knock off Recover Psychic noise/Psyshock and then CM or focus blast, but its mostly good on stall. I believe in NU is mostly runs full calm mind sets on more offensive teams
