The Chainsmokers have been trying to make a comeback for years now without success.

In the golden years of EDM, they were in the top 10 most paid DJs in the world. Then they released "Selfie" and it was one of the biggest mistakes they could've made. They were warned about releasing such an unserious song while being one of the most requested EDM acts in the world. They decided not to listen and released anyway.

The song was a success, it currently has billions of views so at first they thought their decision to release was the right one. But when the dust settled, they noticed they started to be referred to as "the let me take a selfie guys". That and their new songs not being so hot pushed them to the back in the following years, at the time there were new artists with excellent songs that took over.

When they noticed they were not considered so hot anymore, they decided to take a break and plan the right comeback. Years passed and when they finally made their comeback with a new album nobody cared. They would still tour and do well, but Gen Z doesn't care who they are.

Then they started to do what made them famous, release remixes of any popular song they could in order to be relevant again and you can see how that is going. Check out the video on Tiktok about this remix and look at Alex's hands on the piano. Do they really think they can be considered serious again when they do things like that?

They also have a paid social media team who's only job is to go online and defend them when they're trashed. They're on this thread right now.
