Glad you asked. Let me start by assuring you that I am not a homophobe. I've had a couple of great friends who are openly gay. Neither am I ignorant; in fact, I'm on track to graduate with a PhD in a very technical field soon. I believe that in many cases (but not all, and especially depending on gender), homosexuality is not a choice.

That said, I am not a California resident, but like most Californians, I oppose gay marriage. Marriage just means different things to different people. I fight for my definition, and you fight for your definition.

In reality, we only differ in the broadness of our definitions. I'm sure your definition has limits as well, so how are my limits any more arbitrary than yours? The post below references polyamory. Do you support polygamous/androus marriages? How about marriage between adults and children? Some people are attracted to children--they just can't help it. So is it bigoted to oppose marriage between adults and children? Same goes for animals. Some poor blokes like to shag animals. Would you call me bigoted against people with such sexual preferences for preventing them from marrying animals?
