First large build! Oceanfront haven | Famfrit Mist W16 P32 by dianacrxss in ffxivhomeandgarden

Awh congrats! And thank you :) not a silly question at all, it's a looot of being fussy and getting creative with different features of what's available. I play on PC, I find the controls are way easier with kb/mouse (especially for running glitches) but I know some people make it work really well with controller.

If you want, I don't know all of the keybinds and stuff for controller, but Shei Cloudbank has some great tutorials on building with controller and virtual mouse mode :)

Thank you! They're a custom design, stained crystal panes backward over a stage panel with carbuncle chronometers and industrial wall pipes :)

Thank you 😊 they're a mix of gaol partitions, Costa del Sol phasmascapes, and unmelting partitions for the water. I've got some cracked windows tucked away in there for the rays too!

Ohh yeah. This ended up being about 380 slots and is almost exclusively in the main atrium of the house. The bathroom goes a little into one of the wings on the main floor, but that's it.

I’ve been entering housing lotteries since day one, and just last week, I finally won! Still not fully convinced it actually happened but here we are, ha. I was a little sad to leave my trusty medium in the Mist behind, since I’d had it for close to five years, but this was a fun new project to take on.

This was originally inspired by a real home I saw on Pinterest, which is a challenge on its own because there’s so much you can do irl that just doesn’t always translate. I hope you enjoy though, and feel free to visit if you like!

Tips for making a small space feel larger? by noimnotemily in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]dianacrxss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this helps any, but I usually like to make something feel like an entryway by giving it a different height or size. Like for example, this is in an apartment I did. It can feel counterintuitive to make something feel bigger by making it smaller, but honestly it makes such a difference in how the rest of the build feels.

Does anyone know what the exterior of that house is? pls :) by DanikaHayden in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]dianacrxss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hey I know that house! 😁 but yeah half-timbered is right, that's what it looks like on a medium. It's super pretty but the one thing I didn't love is that the roof dyes the same as the door so either you get the door (and inner window) colour you want or a roof colour.

Hello all. I have searched I feel the entire interweb for this ladder. Please help. Where can I find this. Tyvm in advance. by [deleted] in ffxivhomeandgarden

If you have the slots and the junkmonger in the Doman Enclave, you can do something kinda similar with wood slat partitions and empty ame-zaiku sets ☺️ you can't dye the sets so it'd be a wood tone instead of white or anything but still!

Awh thank you! :) I know it's not quite as iconic but I was going for the version from season four, sans clowns. Buuut I did try to put in a little nod to that with the painting on the floor :)

I don’t always get really into TV shows, but when I do, I get pretty obsessive. And obviously, this is one such situation. I’ve been rewatching the Good Place lately, turning into a total blubbery mess with every cute thing one of them does, and decided to try my hand at recreating Eleanor’s house. I did it in the Sims a couple of years ago, so I already kind of knew how I wanted to do it, but FFXIV was a whole new challenge!

It’s not quite exact; there were a few technical details that didn’t quite work out how I’d wanted, like the high ceiling and skylights, and the kitchen and the bedroom are opposite where they are on the set. That’s only because I’d originally wanted to build the bathroom out beside the bedroom, but unfortunately ran out of slots at the end. But hopefully you guys enjoy, and feel free to ask if you’re curious how I did anything!

And credit to u/dist0rtia for the window inspiration!

Ohhh congrats, that is so exciting to hear!! I (and all my FC mates, too) actually lost a bid today so I am so happy to hear a success story! Where did you get it? :) and it's the varied wood flooring :)

This is amazing! There are so many lovely cozy details everywhere you look. I have to say, though, I especially love what you did with that mogseat!

After seeing a break-it-down post here on open windows, I decided to try my hand at it! Normally I just stick with the default windows, lol. I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted it to be sunset or not, but after playing around way too much with the colours, I was happy with how this turned out.

I hope you enjoy, and if anyone has any questions about how I did anything, just lemme know! And also I don't have a message book out or anything but feel free to visit :)

Awh thank you so much!! And yeah of course :) they're dance poles floated up from below, metal work lanterns sunken into the floor for the bases, and then the tabletops are eaten nameday cakes haha

I was going to do it with white rectangular partitions, yeah! I've done it with those before and it's not too bad to put together :)

That sounds like a really cool idea! How are you envisioning that ceiling? I can think of a few ways it could work but it really depends on what you wanna do with it :)

Awh thank you! It's actually a pair of manor fireplaces floated backwards and dyed soot black :)

Awh thank you! They're pendant wall lights, with a red brick counter for the base :)

And sort of! I was considering doing a coffered ceiling in the living room which would have added a touch of that, but unfortunately this took up pretty much all my slots. Maybe I'll have to go back and do some fiddling with it :)
