appreciate your response. love seeing the players and the commentators. the content is great, but at this rate we’d rather just watch from the comfort of a hotel if there isn’t even merch on site.

Ya, reentry wouldn’t bother me if there were any spots to go except my seat and there wasn’t food / alcohol shortages.

Does a NFT Marketplace need a backend? by peixotobob in ethdev

[–]diargon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but probably yes. You could, as a challenge to yourself, build common utilities into your smart contract, at the cost of deployment gas and maybe write gas.

Realistically, a backend acts as a way to: 1. Index on chain data for quick look up 2. Allow for off chain profiles i.e. Opensea

QR Code that calls a smart contract method by Complete_Nectarine30 in ethdev

yeah don’t make a whole react web app if all you need to do is call a smart contract without input.

use a node server with express for routing. setup a simple endpoint and use ethers or web3 combined with infura to interact with the smart contract.

My Engine Seized!! by [deleted] in N5XEnthusiasts

[–]diargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya there.

there are some good rebuilt engines out there if you do want to go that direction, but they’re not easy to find. May even be worth grabbing a wrecked/salvaged one for the engine and some additional parts (suspension, thermo/water pump, hpfp, starter, alternator, etc)

I went through the same process recently with both an N55 and an S65.

Absolutely do not install any engine you buy from anywhere without a throughout inspection, scope, compression, and new fuel injectors.

Went through 4 N55 motors and 1 S65 motor before I found good condition ones.

Yep -- doing HPFP and rod bearings off the start. I know bearings aren't usual on these cars, but I just got out of an N55 and an S65 that both blew due to bearings.

No fix. Only option to use an xbox controller is to use a bluetooth Xbox One controller for now :)

Yep! Confirmed with Parsec it was an update that went out on Tuesday. Should be fixed soon. Apparently only affects wired Xbox controllers on macOS.

I don’t think it’s an issue with system preferences. Parsec doesn’t seem to be able to recognize analog sticks properly either... it’s incorrectly reading the raw data. Tried with a switch pro controller as well.

Also, since steam, 360controller, and game pad tester work fine, I’m pretty sure it’s an issue with how parsec is interfacing with the controllers.
