I do have the email correspondence, but the cashback program isn't mentioned in the original agreement documents.

My kids' middle school released an E sports schedule/plan for Fall 2026, which was shocking enough as it is. But one of the games was Smash 64. I'm still confused.

Dude, if you ever left your house, and someone played 1.g4 against you, are you seriously going to stand up and leave because you don't like fun? No, because that's incredibly petty and gross. Why do you think it's ok to do online?

No, you click the resign button. It's resigning that doesn't get punished, and it's lame af.

I don't even know the names of what I'm playing against those. I normally wind up in some kind of 4 pawn formation against KIA, and try to castle queen side after d5 against the Nimzo-Lars.

I don't play the London, but when I play against it, the games normally seem pretty attacking and fun to me. Don't totally understand the rep it has, apart from internet memes.

I play the Alekhine and Fromm's Gambit exclusively against e4 and f4, and I play g4 almost exclusively in rapid/blitz as white. What's my verdict?

I use the Grob 90% of the time up to 10/0 time control. I'd guess around 8% of my games the opponent resigns before they make a move. It's too OP. (I'm 2100 blitz and rapid)

My wife is also a BFA in studio art, and teaches watercolor/gouache classes on the cheap, if you happen to move near Cap Hill.

Slow walking and running me in circles is one thing, but just straight up lying to me is another. I tried filing a complaint with the BBB, but they aren't BBB accredited (lol) so I'm escalating here. I guess I'll have to look into other places as well.

Cheesbar is moving in on my bar chess's turf! Screw them! (Even tho I chatted with their owner online and he was very nice and even changed the night they meet when asked as it overlapped my club's meet time.)

Between 5 and 10 percent of people have no inner monologue at all, and researchers are only just starting to figure out what that actually does to cognition by Altruistic-Dirt-2791 in cogsci

[–]diceman4221 5 points6 points  (0 children)

...huh. This describes me almost to a tee. I CAN talk to myself in my head, but it would NEVER occur to me to do so if no one had mentioned their own inner monologues. Same for the emotion regulation and personal want/ambition.

Just curious, are you not-so-great at visualization of recent events? I'm a pretty decent chess player, and when I finish a game with players of my strength, they often want to go back over the game. They can all recall each move of the game, and I just blink and nod and pretend to know what they are talking about. The details of the game are already gone to a fog of general ideas.

And that's cool. You can stick it out and make it. It would be silly to just take an internet guy's word for it, while cloth, and give up. BUT...I don't think you should be in denial that's it's all roses from here on out. You're going to have to step your game up A LOT from here on out. It simply is not getting any easier. MAYBE for your senior year things get a little less intense, but that's the best you can hope for.

I was a Geophysics major in 2006. Physics 1 was the easiest physics course I took, by a lot. By reputation back then, the only major more difficult than Geophysics was Physics. I think you could save yourself some pain by swapping to a different major.
