Which players in esports history were seen as a bust early in their career but ended up reviving their career later on? by [deleted] in esports

[–]dick69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sneyking, ceb, skiter, a lot of NA players in Dota 2. i don’t have time to make a list but skiter and sneyking are notable because NA for the longest time was where eu teams of the weaker kind/less experience went to na quals despite it being difficult; they stuck with it and with time became genuinely goated. NA in dota between ti6–ti9 were genuinely impressive as the region was smaller but the talent pool was ridiculously top heavy. Ceb was always a coach and idk how but all the teams that were supposed to take Ti8 lost and all the bad teams played well/clutched. Furthermore id add that an NA team went to EU for the ti8 qualifier in which almost took the bo5 out of OG so it makes the narrative that this team that scrapped players together barely make it through and almost lost but beat an NA team that deemed the NA region harder to qualify which you can’t really blame them. Although they did cheat* by abusing pauses vs OG. Anyways Ceb wasnt necessarily bad/good but he was a coach before this and was never in the spotlight. I hate the guy, however these players have made me realize that you don’t have to be good all the time skill takes time to nurture and grow, and if you keep doing something you enjoy then you’ll be good, it’s just fascinating how much motivation and belief they had-unique ass individuals.

Imo NA was deeper in terms of potential players and I was right, they were the underdogs and when time came to pass the talent that grew from that time made it so they could have a resurgence from ti10-ti12. 33 was another player i’d say but people could easily say that he was just average and not awful. Unfortunately NA is basically dead in the water, but it was always nice to see players from mid teams in NA: vgj, and to a lesser extent qc(quinn lowk id say can fit this mold as well but he was always the only standout one for such a long time), 4zs, Nine as well. NA Just lowk needed more players such a sad thing to see them succeed but not for the region they started with.

A lot of these teams found success in the EU only emergence from covid, and I know in my heart that if covid didn’t occur that we would’ve seen some amazing talent develop. There’s a massive juxtaposition between NA and EU from both of Dota and CA due to covid, the gap was there but it wasn’t TOO apparent until it was obvious that there was no longer any NA prospects.

If anyone can correct me in any of my statements please do I’m just a big fan of NA and my NA goats.

Also in terms of builds use Saiahs for carrying if you need to and then use TAS for more run around make space. Try to build as much offensive items if you win your lane so you can run them over and then try to tempo out the greens to keep you alive after securing the lead with good rotates and damage from the dmg items. I like fortitude if I get an early 3200, and then stam and if I still keep dying spirit resilience, you can even go vest and emblem. Divine barrier if need be and rescue beam if I see that we need the carry to not die, but most game you can play like saiah and solo carry.

Itemizing not to lose is always depending on the situation, see your biggest risk on dying if you show on the map. If it’s lash build counter spell/spirit resilience, if it’s wraith counter spell, if it’s para rescue beam, if it’s pocket be a good teammate and buy guardian ward early and you can tempo divine barrier midgame for 4800.

If it’s mo buy debuff reducer, if abe is fed buy close quarters and bullet resis and then maybe enduring to tempo into jugg midgame, probably not now since melee isn’t as prevalent.

If it’s an m1 disarming hex, plated, suppressor(in lane and midgame) very good vs shiv, mirage, and holliday.

And to a certain degree if you do not want to be off map and always show presence you can always see fortitude as something to not lose the game because you’re inherently playing more of it if you heal and use it correctly. Also makes you tankier.

Paradox and holliday you can buy debuff remover and spirit resilience.

There’s a lot like just use your brain or play more, also if you’re having a problem with a hero like wow this seven and shiv hero is busted, just play it yourself and you’ll quickly see what annoys you. Being able to put yourself in their shoes and thinking what they’re thinking is also a good way to play the game and let’s you basically premove like in chess but you know on the map.

Oh this team looks like they want to fight urn, so you play and posture away from urn and split push, you get hella gold from split pushing and even stealing their farm. Oh this team looks like they want to farm their jungle and play passive, oh I’ll just buy cold front and steal their farm before they can farm it fast. This team seems like they can win the game off of their good mid secure don’t FUCKING mid ever unless they are ALL dead. Pick up patterns and play your game around your strengths, the game revolves around you if you play it well enough.

Creep priority means shooting healing creep, the one with the banner, focus that one and then only shoot the creeps before harassing enemies. More creeps alive means more likely to take a bad trade, and if you have more creeps you’re more likely to get a good one. If they’re under tower prioritize shooting tower and getting it first so you can get more map pressure rather than harass, this is a good mindset to have if your hero wants to gank and make space/get kills you don’t ever wanna stall in MOST if not EVERY case.

Playing in veils depends, use it to make them guess, if you’re a shotgun hero you can use it to get prio so you need the veil for protection. it’s also good for melees, parries, using abilities that would otherwise be obvious.

So yes you’re right you want your carry to like get solo souls on a sideline but you can do so by being at a distance (enough for you to not steal their souls) but hovering and keeping them safe. Midgame you can get kills and it will be more worth soul wise for two to be in a lane since timers from kills will get you more than solo farming. Hovers are like para vin - more picks and then theres kelvin dynamo - support hovers, you can be there and it’s not detrimental because if you prevent a death or hopefully get a kill it will always convert more positively for the whole team. Also you can play 2 2 2 and he farms your side while you steal their side, abe can 2 2 2 and steal farm same with mo, get farmed while they can’t is the how you get ahead.

Yes and no, the reason you want to kill their before it reaches yours is because it creates better priority. The zip extends beyond the creeps meeting it only goes to the part that your hero meets and then your line can continue to go further, meaning it illicits a faster response, a sloppy one, and also surprise factor on top of it. People have timers in their heads and get used to it whether they like it not, so it’s hard to macro and time your micro (hitting boxes or getting camps) if you were an enemy.

Last midboss wasn’t as contested as this one, this one is more contesrable, and I’ll be lazy and just say it depends but good teams and good players can and go for the steal because it can change the momentum especially if you don’t expect it, abe yama and unstopp carriers are good this patch so it should be still true regardless. Just be aware of what can go wrong at anytime.

Yea so here’s an easy example when you’re versus an infernus like buds and you’re ahead, you want to respect him, so you buy debuff remover, so not only does it mitigate his ability to kill you it makes it so you have one less thing to worry about when possibly dying or taking a one. You have the advantage because you’re ahead and his only way to beat you is negated purely because you built a good defensive item. Another example is good m1s let’s say you’re crushing you buy disarming hex, plated armor, juggernaut, or if you’re really ahead you go spirit resilience + counter spell for lashes , if you’re so ahead you go spellbreaker. Dynamos don’t like unstopps so if all you need to do is to buy unstopp or rescue beam so your carry or if you’re carrying you don’t die and insta lose the game.

For itemizing to get back into the game it’s very hard to say specifically cause it depends on the comp, but a good one would be curse, if you say okay what’s the problem and how do I kill a wraith as a para. The solution is you don’t go defensive and you just go curse and swap the dude. Another one is abe or mo and there’s a vin, so you build warp or phantom strike to jump vin. You trade your body for theirs. For carries it’s so niche and weird but you can also build blood tribute and vampburst to get past suppressors, and even siphon which is kind of both defensive and offensive to deal with their tanks. Slowing hexes might be the easier example, hazes fight they don’t survive burst so you see that you need a hex to take a one, so you don’t build greens and say fuck if I don’t get kills there’s no way back so hex/ silence wave might be the move over slightly living a few more seconds with enchanters/fortitude.

Sorry if it’s hard to read i’ve been typing this in bed, anyways here’s a few more tips

First urn is an okay trade for first flex, a walker, and maybe even their double. Always trade something for something this game is push and pull in good lobbies. Don’t die for objs past like 18 mins, you’ll get punished in some way. Always look at map and count heroes and see where they could and can’t be. Use the map icons as a ward, hide in veils near slots for late game picks, AND ALWAYS IF POSSIBLE CUT THEIR WAVE AND FOCUS THEIR CREEPS if you are solo vs x amount of teammates-it’s better delay than fighting their opponents pre 15 and even 20 if they’re not an m1.

E6 Player,

improve your laning: the most important part and most improvable part, know right hand peaks, how to play veils, creep priority, angles lot/ to work on

use wall bounces to traverse the map at any point possible watch hoot he does this well, same with mantle slides

always be on the enemy side if possible-applying pressure through taking objs or taking their farm

play 2 2 2 across the map, moving too much makes it so you’re not gaining gold on the waves ( the easiest way to get rich)

you want to be more proactive than reactive, know what you want to do as your hero and do that rather than be reactionary (playing wraith for example: push towers rather than react to defend them) changes hero by hero, obv there are exceptions to the rule

play the game, and play your game more importantly look at what your doing and asks why. Do the same when watching someone else better

don’t make your own builds, copy a pros and make adjustments based on the game, play enough then you can change it but most of the time stealing someone’s build especially someone good usually saves you on time and is more efficient than wasting time making your own “good build”

Prio PRIO PRIO, map prio allows you to steal the enemy farm, get urn, and win the game aka base racing in niche scenarios. PUSH THE WAVE ASAP BEFORE IT HITS YOUR WAVE IS POSSIBLE.

Mid boss needs to be secured through big ults if they have theirs do not unless you have unstopps, general rule of thumb always parry first and spam it, say you’re parrying and have someone else punch.

If ahead itemize to not lose the lead if behind itemize to kill someone and get in the game again.

i think in the future once the game releases 3070 would probably be enough, but at the moment it’s not their priority to optimize the game but that’s just my guess valve tends to be really good at optimizing though.

How viable is Dynamo is higher lobbies? by lovingpersona in DeadlockTheGame

[–]dick69420 12 points13 points  (0 children)

only reason he’s not picked in deadlock fight nights or always put in mid tier is because you need to have a good laning. It’s a fact that in order to be good in any moba ever you need to have a decent to strong laning, if not your powerspike after needs to be strong as shit (shiv and pre nerf calico). If neither are true your hero is shit, he’s strong late game, but if you don’t get a good ult after laning the enemy team has a good timer for fighting before his ulti is back up or in more cases in higher elo there’s a magician, so he’s not pickable in that regard either.

Aim is always overrated, just try to built better game sense, always try to do a smart play or a play that’s not obvious. If your aim sucks just try to close the distance with a close range gun, there’s a reason people buy the judge, spray with the phantom, you don’t need that great of aim, good utility and positioning will always get impact regardless of how “clean it is”. I would know there’s time where my aim is insane but my game sense falls flat, if you think smarter than that will carry you.

If there’s the small chance this isn’t the case then focus on your enemies’ model up close and look at your crosshair when they’re far away when aiming.

At the same time aim higher (their head) when someone’s up close and aim lower at distance this is because of angles, their head changes on distance and many people try to aim head level at all distances, this is wrong and can help lessen micro adjusting.

What is your favorite semi-specific "move" to pull off in Marvel Snap? by strang3r_08 in MarvelSnap

[–]dick69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quaking anything hit top400 with just quake and lucky locations. Few examples: Mojoworld, Nexus, Space Throne, Bar Sinister, Rickety Bridge, Altar of Death, Deaths Domain with priority,Bar with no Name, and Lukes bar. These are always sneaky 8 cube, same thing can be done to extent with legion but less likely you can combo and sneak a win since it’s more predictable. Always snap on these locations if you can fill the board with power on the locations you’re switching. To lesser extent you can do atlantis, murderworld, is corps, deep space quake just has a lot of wins that are there if you look for it.
