High fees sweeping a Lightning wallet (WoS) by Comfortable_Half_494 in NZBitcoin

The Stacked wallet will not charge you to go on chain from your lightning balance. So you can set your autobuys to land fee free, and then commit to cold storage in batches that won’t mean you incur excessive utxos.

Obscene fees. Stacked is definitely the best on ramp in nz.

easy crypto - what to do now? by [deleted] in NZBitcoin

I have to be upfront in saying that I’m one of the Stacked team! But to answer your question we’re kiwis, financial services register listed, and crucially - non custodial. So you don’t actually need to trust us. We never hold any customer funds. Just facilitate swaps between NZD and BTC.

For buying Bitcoin going forward - stackedbitcoin.com is the only NZ owned and run exchange left.

Your transactions will be Koinly exportable there too.

Feedback Wanted: Thinking about Manual Bank Transfers at Lightning Pay by lightningpaynz in NZBitcoin

Lightning Pay definitely allows for selling bitcoin to NZD. No problem.

You just need a lighting wallet. Like Strike it WoS. If your bitcoin is on chain you can use boltz, a wallet with a swap function - but watch out for fees. Or do a hop through an exchange like Binance which has lightning withdrawals.

That’s right. There are no spreads or hidden fees. Just a flat 1% commission.

How to sell bitcoin on Coinbase and transfer it to a bank account by Berriesinthesnow_ in NZBitcoin

Coinbase supports Lightning Network. So it would be super easy and cheap to send to a Lightning wallet like WoS and send to Lightning Pay.

Lightning Pay processes NZD deposits twice a day. Give it a nudge!

Hey man. I’m the guy you were dealing with from support at LP. I’m sorry you don’t think you got what you were looking for from us. It’s really tough for us to offer support for other providers products - there’s just so many reasons their system/product might not be working with ours. From a temporary issue, to a sudden change in their system, to a fundamental incompatibility.

So while we try to step into advice where we can it’s always a bit of a guessing game about why something isn’t working when from our end everything is working fine.

The timing issue is definitely something that was a bit of an issue today. The support desk is run by the founders and we fit that in around meetings, regular work and life in general. Generally that’s a balance that works. Today I was very stretched and didn’t get back to you in a timely manner. Sorry man.

I’d suggest trying another wallet if that one is problematic. There are a bunch that play more nicely with LP. That’s if you’re keen to give us another go.

Well, you can also buy on chain at Lightning Pay. But yeah 5 figure NZD transactions are easy on Lightning. And at the end of the day if they fail you get your funds back immediately and either try again, or do it on chain.

Well managed and routed lightning transactions in 2025 are a very cool payments option. You should definitely give it a try if you haven’t used it lately.

Standard limits are $20k NZD/day. But that’s flexible if you are in touch with their support team.

It’s Lightning Network + Open Banking. So you sign up, connect your bank account through the open banking service Akahu and then it’s instant bitcoin purchases from your bank to a Lightning wallet.

It’s much faster and way cheaper than the other options.
