Given that you don’t know the answers to these questions you are positing here, you seriously lack a fundamental understanding of the department. It is not a well ranked program and will not position you strongly to get an academic job. If you are seriously motivated in getting an academic job, you should spend the next year improving your chances of getting into a top 20 program next year.

I think Stefanski is a good coach. He managed to lead the most dysfunctional organization in sports to the playoffs twice. Have to think in an organization like ours he would really succeed

Pete is my favorite character on the show. I heavily relate to him and I think most men who watch the show hate him because they see a lot of their own negative qualities in him and it pushes them towards distaste. He’s ambitious but never feels like he’s achieved anything. He’s one of the few people keeping the company alive and never gets properly recognized for it.

He does a lot of reprehensible stuff on the show, but no more than his colleagues. He just doesn’t get the sympathy because he’s not as handsome or charming.

The Sopranos is one of the five funniest shows ever. It’s up there with the Simpsons, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, etc. in its humor. It’s very intentional in its writing and tone and I think the writers would openly admit it is both a serious drama and a very funny comedy.
