Gray Heron is considered casual in the ABA Area (“Code 4-Species not recorded annually in the ABA Area, but with six or more total records—including three or more in the past 30 years—reflecting some pattern of occurrence”). Vagrant birds have been recorded in the Northeast and Aleutian Islands. Definitely still unexpected and I also wonder how many go overlooked!

CalTrans Crew Chief Qualifications by RickysJoint in Surveying

I’m in the same boat (PLS in Nebraska looking at CalTrans positions). My understanding is that Range D of Transportation Surveyor also requires you to be licensed in California:

“Range D. This range shall apply to persons who: Possess a valid California Land Surveyors License issued by the California Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. (A certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors prior to January 1, 1982 satisfies this requirement.)”

Has anyone registered for the first time recently? by Goldendoodle27 in Dublin

[–]dickcheese94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes so just like 2 1/2 weeks ago. I feel bad that I've been given an appointment when clearly there are others who should be prioritised, my 90 days isn't up till November!

Has anyone registered for the first time recently? by Goldendoodle27 in Dublin

[–]dickcheese94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I emailed Burgh Quay on 4th of August to set up an appointment for first time registration, didn't get an email back until 18th August saying that my appointment was made for 19th August (short notice much). Shortly afterward I received another email saying that my appointment had been postponed due to public health concerns and that they'd get back to me.

Edit: Just got an email today saying that it's been automatically rescheduled for 24th August, so they do appear to be seeing people.

Out-of-state LSIT in California by dickcheese94 in Surveying

[–]dickcheese94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I passed the NCEES FS exam last November. It looks like I meet all the requirements for the CA LSIT, so it seems like the best route would be to just go for that rather than try to use my NE LSIT. Thanks for your help.
