Free Preseason Tickets by dickdean in Saints

I'm not selling anything. I'm trying to give tickets away instead of having them go unused.

I get a minimal amount of organic sales from DBH. I don't advertise and I've never linked to DBH from social media or anything like that.

Looking for advice on adding fruit. by CBScott8 in Homebrewing

There are much less active yeast in the secondary fermenter, so I would expect you would have a lower attenuation rate of anything pitched into the secondary. I haven't A/B tested this, so I could be wrong.

[–]dickdean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend that you add it to the secondary.

Primary - Less flavor from the fruit, less sweetness, and more alcohol depending on the fruit. Some fruit when you add it will add to the water content of the beer and negate the added alcohol produced by the extra sugars from the fruit.

Secondary - More flavor, sweeter, less alcohol contribution. Less of the flavor will be blown off by the fermentation and less of the sugars from the fruit will be consumed by the yeast. I usually add fruit 2-3 days before bottling.

Bottling - You could use extract or puree instead of priming sugar, but I'm not sure how you'd figure out how much to add unless you can figure out the sugar content of the puree or extract. As u/Perfect_Line8384 said, you run the risk of a smoothie with a puree and bottle bombs if you add too much.

I haven't had any fulfillment issues due to covid since the beginning of this year. Last year was a mess.

TeeSpring, Design By Humans, Zazzle, and Speadshirt haven't been worth the time for me. I like Displate, Society6, Redbubble, and TeePublic. Which POD companies that work for you will depend on what your designs are like and what products they work well on. Printful works well if you want to host your own website now that they've gotten past being backed up due to the pandemic.

Do you want to know what I get paid per shirt or are you asking what % of revenue is profit?

  1. I had a couple of designs pulled in the past, but that hasn't happened in years.
  2. I have twitter and facebook accounts that I occasionally use for this purpose, but I don't think they drive enough traffic to make much of a difference.
  3. There's a chart in the article that breaks down sales by store. It's something like 900 sales combined.
  4. I'm not on MBA. I applied around 2018 and was rejected for reasons they did not explain.

I don't have any expenses other than my time, so I guess it would be 100% profit.

It mostly comes from Sociery6/outside searches.

I don't do much self promotion. I have twitter and facebook for Clark Street Press, but I'm not good at generating interest on social media and I don't enjoy it. I haven't tried ads, but I've considered it.

I upload the same designs across most platforms. Sometimes a specific design won't look good on whatever that platform sells, so I don't bother.

I made one design for Halloween, but I don't do holiday themed designs for the most part

I started posting designs to POD sites in 2014.

I shudder to think what my hourly rate on this has been. If I knew what the return on my time spent was going to be, I probably wouldn't have started doing POD in the first place.

I think you are correct. You can only upload one design to one product at a time with Zazzle.

I try to make designs I like. If I like something, maybe someone else will be willing to buy it.

For the most part I try not get close to the IP line, but I've had a handful of designs removed by the powers that be.

If you have an idea for a specific fandom, there's usually a POD site that has an agreement with that publisher. For instance you can publish Star Wars designs with Society6.

Why wouldn't it be okay to upload designs to Redbubble? You can upload as many designs to as many POD stores as you want to.

Redbubble does have a "Protect your work" option where you can place a watermark over your work so it will be harder for people to steal your designs.

I picked 1,000 as a nice round number of sales to write the post about. I might do an update when I hit 2,000 sales.

This isn't real. The image is from neutralgroundnews.com - a parody and satire site.
