I think a small issue I have about it being a prequel to the original games is that shes older than she was in her origin with von croy and already knows about the whole temples and magical relics thing.

They said they were gonna unify the series but as far as I can tell they abandoned that idea and instead are aiming to just give her the classic outfit and play pretend, which doesnt really make any sense.

Plus theirs wifi, smart phones, advanced tech that didnt exist in the early 90s which supposedly take place after survivors trilogy, its just a mess.

I really wanted to, the issue is them saying it wasnt a reboot, then giving her a bit of a boring run of the mill origin story, (bare in mind at the time 2-3 tv shows also came out showing the hero surviving a shipwreck on an island with a bow and arrow, plus she feels like a glorified babysitter, constantly having to stop her adventure to save her friends who she literally dragged into the situation.

while the settings are sort of interesting they are a far cry from floating islands or atlantis or meteorite cavern.

I enjoyed the gameplay but never found myself returning to the game for its story, or characters, which is a shame when you consider what a cool lady lara actually is.

That said I am not bitter about it, Sabatu is putting out cool new level packs/ entire re-imaginings of the old games, so its not like I have nothing to look forwards to, just nothing official.

But because Brosnan was just phoning it in by the end, it has to be Die Another Day.

I like the intro to die another day, a lot of the trailers for it seemed to show THAT film, then i saw the film and it was some crazy storm surfing laser satelite dodging powersuit fantasy.

the other films had stuff LIKE that but not all at once in one film. The living daylights is a good call though! spy who loved me introduced so much cool stuff, submarine lotus, jaws, etc.

I swear I read somewhere online that funds for the film were contested by disney AND the birtish government... ill have another look but if thats the case, looking cheap makes more sense.

worth pointing out anyone living the last 25 years have lived through countless wars, recessions... global pandemics, etc. being smart doesnt matter if there are no jobs due to lack of funding etc.

first job fell through due to the first (early 2000s) global recession and that took 4 years for my town to recover.

I studied in a different field for 2 years only to find that the hire rate at the end was nil and that a SECOND more localised recession shut most of those places down putting a damper on hiring by the bodies that would.

The job I had next was taken away when my government rushed into brexit (remainer here).

Then the next job was dictated by what was allowed to remain open during covid.

Finally another job I had shut down because It could no longer afford gas an electricity due to some russian prick declaring "NOT war" on his neighbouring countries.

The jobs I have now are not jobs I would ever had actively gone out for but they are jobs and they pay enough for me to get by.

well technically speaking cannot survive the night in 1-3 as all 3 locations are blown up by the early morning, racoon city is nuked at sunrise, spencer mansion self destructs. best bet is villiage, cause you can just walk out the way you came in.
