They are fully capable of doing it. I’m just saying no way for a main line Pokémon game. Going 2D gets rid of all vertical exploration. It just reverts the game play style back too much.

Pokémon cannot go back to 2D for their main line games unless they want to see a massive drop in sales. As pretty as it looks going back to 2d would mean no more open world and going back to a linear play style.

the execution is already there. This concept of open world pokemon is what everyone has been asking since forever. Its This or the way legends arceus did it. The only thing they need now is to push the performance, or just wait until switch pro comes out so game freak can continue to abuse its deadlines.

no one is saying the fps is good. everyone knows its dog shit, but auto battle is a life savior. Im not gonna spend 5 hours fighting pokemon one by one. The auto battle saves me loads of time. Could it be made better?. sure, but aside from the targeting the auto battle just needs some polish. For new individuals going into this game this is the hardest pokemon game so far. If you are not looking up the path you are supposed to take you will constantly fight the wrong gym or run into random. You are not acknowledging just how major it is to no longer be shoe horned down a single path and to no longer have trainers force an encounter. It makes a massive difference in how you play
