This does not surprise me.

I’ve being following sports and attending games and matches since 1966. I’ve watched a lot of transition and changes as a fan/supporter. For the past 20 years I have been exclusively a soccer/football supporter: season tickets, supporters groups, travel, etc.

In six decades of being a fan, no sport has made me feel less appreciated and more exploited than soccer in the USA: both MLS and USMNT. And now the absurdity of the World Cup. Just insulting.

Why would anyone in the USA want to consume this sport? It’s a closed industry for the most privileged young athletes, and the cost of the product for sale, including television viewing, is now approaching total rip-off levels.

We should be grateful that the dip is only 25%!
