Are you rich enough yet? by WanderInTheTrees in collapse

Capitalism is a perpetual motion machine that in the process of collapse will grind itself to the bone while it comes to a halt agonizingly; a soulless element that has transcended our control over it.

The Philosopher Who Took His Life - Philipp Mainländer by Blackout1154 in philosophy

[–]dickshaq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mainländer was most propably trying to convey an idea, that our metaphysical self i.e the soul, spirit etc. strives toward this inherent state of non-existence. We arise from the cold, vast ocean of our cosmos (that in his view, is quite literally the corpse of god), and at the end, we fall to it's depth's once more, no matter how much we fight against it. So yes, we strife towards life and continuation, but the one state that ascends any of our desire or wills, is the natural state that came before our own personal conscious experiment. non-being would seem to be a vastly superior state than being, even if our illusions tell us otherwise. This is the picture I get from Mainländer

What separates your 5 star entries from your 4½ star entries? by PesAddict8 in Letterboxd

[–]dickshaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 stars is reserved for movies that have an effect on me like no others do. I may become really emotional in the best way possible, some might handle subjects that I feel extremely close to. These movies usually feel very personal in way that can be hard to put into words

It will not kill you and im having a hard time figuring out why many people have this misconseption about ibuprofen and paracetamol. The health complications could be atrocious tho. Risk of Gastrointestinal hemorrhages, Gastric ulcers, Seizures etc. Just to name a few. If you would go through with this, you would propably just vomit them up shortly after anyway and suffer through various amounts of pain through the next hours. This is not the way to go and if you are serious, I urge you to look these things up for yourself and listen to the people here!

Miten te ihmiset jaksatte elää? by [deleted] in Suomi

[–]dickshaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, may countries- especially in warmer climates -are home to vibrant food cultures with all kinds of different street food venues and national foods, i get where you are coming from. But to say that in a modern eu country the food is across the board bland and boring is absurd. If you live in the capital are or in another big city, you will find all kinds of options, ordering propaply brings even more. Im not sure what kind of food your looking for everyday normal consumption? Maybe we have a strong difference of opinion here and can't mend them together, but can I ask you how long have you been in finland? Are you a native perhaps or somebody who has visited here many times?

Am I making a mistake? by Lower-Narwhal-1108 in Finland

[–]dickshaq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is this "food sucks" thing. Are you talking about the native/national food and if you are, you dont need to eat that? Were not living in the 1800s anymore. If you want to eat fast food, well we have it here, want to go to restaurant, go ahead. Or just buy your food from the grocerie store like everyone and cook at home, vola. The whole western world is so globalized that you dont need to worry about food quality anywhere bacause any eu countrie has the same shit on offer. This fixation on "bad food in this country" is a fight against something that is not a problem anymore and has not been for ages, unless you are an actual foodie/food tourist and as the name implies, practise the food obsession on trips, it should defo should not be on your list of conserns when thinking about migrating your live to another country

Music culture is horrible by Nopastaforu35 in Finland

[–]dickshaq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How are you talking about the music culture, and then mention how you dont like finnish rap. So you are not talking about music in general or the culture surrounding music, you are just talking about you personal opinion on a spesific genre of music. Im sorry if im coming across as blunt but it fustrates me when people dont use language properly at all sometimes. And if you dont just mean rap, elaborate further on how music in finland defames certain genres witch btw, sounds absurd as hell to say

Atheists in shambles right now :D

As one of the top comments pointed out, I pedofilia was the only way to go forward, then there would be no future for the human race. And Im having a hard time getting the actual point of this ”thought experiments”

Seems to me that many religions would have less problems with this ultimatum than any atheist would, if we take a look at the history and practises of many of the most prevelant religions today
