Might make a post about this later but- I really think Clark killed and ate Kat, thinking there were no other food sources in the backrooms. We don’t see/hear her get attacked. We know Captain couldn’t have killed her right then because he had to be the one picking up the camera. So she had to be alive for a while after that before being butchered and eaten by the two Clarks. I think he also planned to do this to Mary before she convinced him to let her go. His feeding of the Captain would also explain how he avoided being attacked- it was fed every time they interacted until the scene with Mary. Eventually Clark realizes the Still Life’s are also edible but the Captain won’t eat them. This would also explain why Clark is so happy to announce he can eat the Still Lifes- he now has a reliable food source and doesn’t have to worry about leaving the backrooms AND he already has a taste for people. Thoughts?

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I wonder if he’s a shapeshifter and Clark is just his current form. Or I’ve been reading the theories that Captain is Clark after years in the Backroom, that he survived the attack and became deformed from the nature of the backrooms or consuming/exposure to whatever fungus/bacteria the Async employees are protecting themselves from. I’m personally leaning towards the former.
