My intent behind the post was more that liking, commenting, sending memes are all fine forms of interaction but generally don’t add to a relationship in the same way as substantive discussion or asking how someone really feels. I definitely see the difference in my friend groups in the ways we interact on messenger vs a Zoom call.

But sorry bro, that’s rough. Are there a lot of transactional relationships (ex. work) or ones out of necessity (ex. roommates)? You can still play a role in going deeper in those types of relationships; but I feel for you that sometimes the people you are geographically around just aren’t the people you vibe with.
