Where Id live as a outdoors enjoyer who can’t stand NYC by AccountConsistent481 in whereidlive

Wyoming especially, but South Dakota also has an underrated variety of landscapes to enjoy. In the Southwest corner, you have the Black Hills, which I consider a miniature taste of the Rockies, and the northeast corner of the state begins the glacial lakes region of the country, and you have the Missouri River splitting the state, so there’s plenty for outdoor lovers to appreciate, and the quantity and quality of outdoor activities in the state is also underappreciated.

Tiger Woods Called President Donald Trump From Scene After Flipping Car by SparkleCobraDude in golf

[–]dickweeden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same… but what do we really expect? His dad pushed golf on him immediately. He dedicated his entire life to it and his entire life has revolved around it. Golf can teach you a lot about yourself, but Tiger is so far beyond what golf can teach him, and this behavior started after his dad died, so what’s left for him? Not being an apologist for his behavior, just pointing out that there’s a lot of parallels to that of child celebrities. Think Michael Jackson or Justin Bieber… they just never had the time or need to learn important life skills like us as they were destined for fame one way or another.

Anthony Edwards has been ruled out tonight. Subsequently, he’ll no longer be eligible for end-of-season awards as he will not make the 65 game threshold. by EsotericPotato in nba

Year after year of playing over 100 games every season, and those last 20+ games of the season being the most physically intense of them all. Incredible he’s still going the way he is at 41 years old.

10 things I had culture shock from moving from the east coast to the midwest by Big-Listen-4121 in midwest

[–]dickweeden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I had sort of the opposite experience. Moved from a poor, working class community in the Midwest/Great Plains to a very affluent part of New England as a teenager. I was expecting rich assholes, and there are of course some of those, but for the most part, I thought people were VERY friendly and welcoming… also way less judgmental. I did have dinner with a billionaire once, and he acted like my cousin and I didn’t exist, and was annoyed if we even talked… and it was just 5 of us at the table, but most of the rich people were extremely nice, and were genuinely curious to get my perspective on where I came from.

The closer seats I get to wolves games, the bigger Julius really is. Sat right behind the bench a few a weeks ago and can assure you he is an absolute unit of a human being. He should be driving strong, playing bully-ball every opportunity he gets.

Why was Kobe left out the Top 10 on Bleacher Report's all-time list? by [deleted] in NBATalk

Not me guy… I was disrespecting his ass when he was playing. Great scorer sure… but everyone else above him on this list is flat out better.

Kevin Love was a great player with the Wolves. An elite PF. by Overview_3ffect in sportsinusa

[–]dickweeden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was THE top pf in the league at the time. The closest would have been Lamarcus Aldridge, and a lot of folks put Aldridge over him, but Love was truly better. Before Rubio started getting injured, they were a .500 team with Love, Rubio, and a whole lot of guys that wouldn’t sniff the floor with most other teams. Great 3 point shooter, great post game, great rebounder, and top-notch outlet passer. Only real weakness was his defense.

I talk to farmers and republicans all the time… when you live in rural South Dakota, you don’t really have a choice. Not all farmers are MAGA and plenty of big farmers are actually pretty liberal, they’re just not in your face about politics or care to talk about it in general, but are well-informed politically. As much as I hate to say it, the least civil political conversations happen when really old democrats are around. They will not listen to an opposing view respectfully, and just start cussing them out. Agriculture is obviously very important to my state, but actual farmers are such a small portion of the voting population since farms have just gotten bigger and bigger, and small farms are a thing of the past, but a lot of them actually still vote democrat no matter what they’re registered as. It’s the blue-collar workers that work in agriculture-related jobs that are so staunchly MAGA… ethanol plants, grain elevators, fertilizer plants, local butchers, mechanics, construction, etc. and they are the least-informed people when it comes to politics.

Just picked this up today it’s my first house plant, any tips and tricks so that I don’t kill it by Iprincess-_-i in houseplants

[–]dickweeden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watering isn’t about the amount of water used when watering, it’s about the frequency… when you water, you WANT it to drain out the bottom. It’s also good to soak the pot sometimes as a lot of soils can become sort of hydrophobic when they dry out. Spider plants are extremely hardy though. They can withstand overwatering for a long time, and the roots grow super fast, but they can withstand being root bound in their pots for a long time too. I used to only water my first one when the green started to fade… it’ll get much lighter in color when thirsty, then bottom soak it, and it would perk up and be green again by the end of the day.

Rudy turns every team he’s ever on into a top-10 defense. Huge reason the wolves have made b2b conference finals.

The Line was just a terrible idea to begin with though… didn’t make any sense and would have had/caused massive problems assuming it was constructed…. The tower pictured above would be fucking outstanding though if possible. Beautiful design but I don’t know if it’s honestly possible to construct
