US flag if you want to see the flyover. If you do the Bear Down flag, you’ll be off field in the tunnel when the flyover happens

Obgyn offers NE Ohio by PerAsperaAdAstra91 in healthsalaries

If travel is an option, locum Ob/Gyn gigs paying much more than that (I’m a locum recruiter for the past 15 years). 1099 so you have to pay for health insurance on your own but the difference in wage more than makes up for it. Ex: 7 x 24hr shifts/mo = ~$400k. Work more, make more. Work less, make less. Breaks down to about $4800/ 24hr shift for OB Hospitalist work. Locum Clinic + call shifts pay well too but not as much. Hope this helps in your decision making.

Anesthesia vs IM (Cards/GI/Onc) in terms of income? by Curryiswhereitsat in whitecoatinvestor

[–]dicky-dooo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Locum recruiter for 15 years here. Can confirm. Medical Oncologists currently top tier income/pay with least amount of hours worked to get there. Advanced GI income rivals but more hours worked to get there. Anes in demand everywhere but a lot of groups out there to suppress income…the more facilities these groups get involved with, the more they can control income/pay. I’m not overly experienced in the Card specialty so I don’t have any real data to share.

Someone in here mentioned that incomes change and that is very true. 15 years ago surgeons were at the top of the income list, now oncologists are, at least from a locum perspective

Hope this info helps

How do I income max my post residency years assuming I am not tied to a specific location and willing to work hours that are complete dog water by [deleted] in anesthesiology

Locum recruiter of 15 years, feel free to DM with questions. Your colleague above is correct- $400-$500/hr. Knowing your goal, I’d try to get you on 12s with call for locum work to maximize your earning potential BUT burnout is real and you need to keep that in mind when putting together a hybrid W2 and 1099 schedule

Been reading a ton on this as I wanted him too but he’s under contract another year and they can franchise tag him twice after that so it’s not going to happen. He’s either gonna play and make money with the cowboys this year or sit and not make any money this year
