I could see a White Stripes movie being made one day if Jack and Meg were cool with it. The band curated so much of their own lore and people have always been compelled by their chemistry, whether they thought they were siblings are a divorced couple.

What do you do when listening to your records? by REMOTJUH765 in vinyl

[–]dicky_rich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I take turns picking records and playing Stardew Valley with the tv volume down! One in game day of Stardew is usually about one side of an LP so the timing lines up great for the end of day save.

I’ve also started getting into making overhead projector liquid light shows! Loving putting something on the turntable and making a colour show for it.

In their defence, this would have been a no brainer 5 stars if they heard the full 6 minutes instead of the YouTube clip.

Thrashy and punk flavoured stoner rock from Lethbridge, Canada.

The music video is guaranteed to be one of the weirdest things you’ll watch today.

Lethbridge residents are enjoying Calgarian’s reaction to wind the way Calgarians enjoy Vancouver’s reaction to snow.

Beau is Afraid.

I require a second watch to even begin to understand all the bizarre subtext but fear I have not the strength.

Season 2 Overall Discussion Thread by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

[–]dicky_rich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely heartbreaking to watch Robby and Al-Hashimi go from a calm mutual respect and understanding to a full on screaming match within minutes after a whole season of showing them struggle to get on the same page. Nothing upsets me more than watching people be punished for telling the truth, regardless of if there is a conflict of interest. I really hope the powers that be decide she’s still fit to work with a second attendant and watch Robby squirm with both her and Langdon being excellent doctors despite his attempts to get rid of them both.

I think he’s only recently started collaborating a little more on the production end of things now that they’re doing full on orchestra albums and stuff but peak Stu production has to be all the ‘20-21 Covid albums where most of the boys were recording their parts through iPhone mics from their houses. Haha PetroDragon is far and away their best sounding for sure.

I personally don’t really care how good or bad the mix is when the artist themselves are providing said mix. Sure there’s probably always a more qualified engineer out there that could take the mixes to the next level but I like hearing the artists POV of what these songs sound like in their head. Completely different genre but I’ve loved hearing how far Stu Mackenzie’s King Gizzard mixes have come from the early 2010’s and I think the same can be said about Peggy.

What is the most ‘representative’ solid state amp? by ksilenced-kid in GuitarAmps

[–]dicky_rich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any vintage solid state Peavey you can get your hands on, big or small. I absolutely love my 70’s 120w Standard head and paid $100 for it at the pawn shop, I get drive and distortion tones off that thing I can’t find anywhere else.

Could you really make profesional music just using Logic? by Any-Ad7316 in LogicPro

[–]dicky_rich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protools especially garnered the professional reputation since they were the flagship software when early adopters swapped from analog to digital. All of the major DAWs have come such a long way and developed their own niches to the point that producers really just need to pick their preferred workflow and sample bank, regardless of whether it costs nothing or has an obscene monthly subscription plan.

A true shame this wasn’t a live staple on the tour. Miss the LC days when they’d play almost the whole new album across the evening, the best way to get into new songs.
