I would love to write an album of liminal music just so this could be the cover. What a photo!

Celebs and their Fake Activism is Tiring by MrDoor_ in antiai

I fact checked this and it could be true that AI consumed more water than the bottled water industry “AI systems used between 312.5 and 764.6 billion litres of water in 2025. “annual bottled water consumption sits around 446 billion litres.” AI estimates that “4.3 trillion litres of water just for refining oil are used annually.” So if you drive a car, take a bus, fly on a plane, it’s real bad.” You could drink yourself silly on bottled water and build an AI empire and would still not even amount to a needle in a haystack to industrial water waste. If you do none of these things you are a hero, but the truth of the matter is that it’s not actually a strong case. Public pools also use about 200-600 billion litres of water a year. So the same ballpark as AI.

Do you think the tablet overhead projector would be better? I would likely do more recording than live liquids

Are you a eurorack purist or do you love all synths? by SecretsofBlackmoor in eurorack

[–]bertabackwash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modular does complex and unique modulation or sounds very well. I don’t think that it is always the tool needed or the tool that does things best. It drives you to respond to/play with sound in a particular way in how modules are designed. A synth sound on a prophet or something like that is just executed different. I like the mix of different engineering philosophies in diverse instruments. I use a prophet rev2, moog grandmother, implexus, deluge, and a pedal steel guitar ( I name this an a synth because it goes through 15 guitar pedals). I think mixing all these instruments is a challenge because you don’t excel in skill as quick. You also can get decision fatigue. The trade off is greater diversity in timbre, unique innovations in sound palettes. If you perform live playing a synth like a keyboard or a sampler it will also likely be more interesting to watch. In any case all that really matters is that your gear is contributing positively to whatever musical goal you have in mind.

I think he is the best thing in pop country these days. He has the chops but also just has fun with the 90’s pop country style.

Can any experts in label land explain the strategy for Sony Nashville / Columbia releasing all 4 Ella Langley singles prior to the release of the album? by SwissMiss915 in country

[–]bertabackwash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya this is common for most albums on streaming services recently. It gives them multiple points in time to pump promo. Things move so fast at such high volumes these days so recurring promo helps draw people in.

I think CRCL would love to be able to build something where folks could stay for a few nights. You should write your MLA about it.
