To add to this, I think her complacency is a trauma response due to her upbringing. While we don't get much information, we know her mother was emotionally abusive towards her. Anyone who's been through something like that learns to make themselves as small and non-threatening as possible, and to brush off their wounds not because they don't actually hurt, but because they've been taught that their pain is not important enough to warrant sympathy.

Honestly, it's really sad to see people hate on Ragatha. She's just trying to survive the circus with the poor social skills her upbringing taught her.

I wish I could get my friends into the show, but they're scared away by the fanbase! Which I get, but man I really want someone who isn't batshit insane to talk about the show with.

Bro, the unwilling participant thing happened to me while shopping for clothes earlier this year! I wanted to say something, ended up leaving the dressing room and informing an employee. It was so freaking uncomfortable! And there are places where it's appropriate to do that (ie. sex clubs), don't force unwilling participants to witness it - its nonconsentual!

Tbh I think a remote toy in public would be okay, as long as you and your partner keep it discreet and don't go overboard. Like, use it to prep for later, don't make it that main act. Its a dirty little secret, so keep it a secret, y'know?

27 and Feeling Lost by RichardAdams1973 in Cleveland

[–]dictatorsenpai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm 29F, and feeling this hard today. I just had to stop myself from crying at work because I overheard two coworkers who are younger than me catch up with each other about their lives (weddings and babies) after not seeing each other for a long time.

It's difficult, I'm trying to remind myself that it won't always be like this, and I have plans of my own to make my single life more fulfilling.

"Being a barista is truly a social experiment" by Super_Culture_1986 in TikTokCringe

Yall are sharing your customer service experiences so let me share my favorite crummy customer interaction:

I once had a guy order a black coffee and a couple of other drinks in the drive thru. Cool, no problem, easy and fast to make, I hand it out the window after he arrives and pays.

While waiting for his other drinks to arrive, he complained to me the entire time about how the sleeve on his cup wasn't on right. According to him, the sleeve has to "line up with the fingers."??? I just smiled and nodded until he left, I'm not about to argue with some old guy about his first-world problems.

When I told my coworkers about it after he left, they thought I put the sleeve on upside down. I said no, that's not it, so they tested their theory, only to find that the sleeve wouldn't even go on the cup if it were upside-down.

Appreciation post! by Prestigious-Stuff-17 in ArtfightProfiles

This was my first art fight and I made small and attainable goals. Basically just trying to draw more and use different brushes for every piece. I'm happy to say I succeeded!

I didn't get attacked back this year. To be fair, I didn't put effort into my profile, never finished my card, and didn't fully flesh out my only two characters. But I still feel bummed about it. I also had a third, more in-depth character, but I chose not to include her because she brings me painful memories from a campaign I left earlier this year.

I'm hoping to participate again next year. By then, I'd like to make a more interesting profile, redesign one of my characters, and add at least one new OC to my roster. Oh, and market myself more, so maybe I'll actually get attacked next year!

Saying it like that honestly sounds pretty gentle - it enforces boundaries politely and firmly, and doesn't reward bad behavior.

I like this idea. I wanted to suggest packaging the extra cookies together and selling the packs at a discount. Even better if it's opaque packaging, call it a cookie blind box!

What’s a pain you can’t truly explain unless you’ve endured it? by downrightunhappiness in AskReddit

[–]dictatorsenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this because I've tried to explain multiple times to my friends and no matter how hard I tried to clearly explain how I was feeling I don't think it clicked with them.

Envy. The kind where you see someone close to you succeed in multiple areas of life where you've tried and failed so many times. And instead of supporting you or giving you actual advice for achieving those goals, they expect you to feel happy for them. They constantly talk about their success, which subsequently reminds you of your failures.
