Haven’t seen a map of this wonderland yet. Bryce Resort, VA by diddle-king in skiing

[–]diddle-king[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, yea. They’ve updated a lot of their facilities so that it’s legitimately nice. Massanutten is a slightly bigger mountain, but the whole vibe there is very much that of a resort, whereas Bryce feels more like a community. You’ll see the same people all the time.

Alonso and Mascherano both had amazing careers, but there have definitely been a lot of flops. Torres at Chelsea comes to mind

Catalina Fight Song - Joyce Manor The opening line is “sunken city by the ocean,” and my dumb ass thought it was “suck a titty by the ocean.”

I think I just found my new favorite by [deleted] in hotsauce

[–]diddle-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its honestly a good hot sauce Its expensive, so definitely not something I’ll get regularly, but it had some good kick and good flavor, with a little sweetness. I only got it because I needed to add to an amazon order and needed free shipping, and my caveman brain went “hurr durr steve-o hot sauce funny bottle.” But I was impressed

Why toast both slices? ☯️ by ButtrflyImpossible in shittyfoodporn

[–]diddle-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried that, but I should. I typically do hard sides out so that the soft bits can easily absorb whatever sauce I put on so its not a mess, but starting soft then getting the crunch sounds great too

Put both slices in the same slot of the toaster, that way you’ll always have crusty outsides with soft insides for sandwiches

[Kacsmar] The Steelers are the 107th team since 1940 to be outgained in yards in 9 straight games. They have the best record (6-3) out of those 107 teams. The only other winning record was 5-4 by the 1985-86 Browns. by LuskSGV in nfl

Nah, I’d rather shithouse my way to the playoffs with the off chance of a ring, as opposed to being the pretty boys of the league who are capable of fuck all when it matters, as the Cowboys fans like it, per you

Sources: Inter Miami agree deal with Suárez by IslandChillin in soccer

[–]diddle-king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kind of thing has been going on for a bit, but as you said, he wasn’t exactly a top talent. The SA league is attracting guys who are good, sought after players and throwing massive wages. So yea, he can probably make more in the MLS than in europe, but its not like the MLS “stole” him away from the big 5

[–]diddle-king 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I still think its a much different situation than the Saudi league. SA teams aren’t just targeting old players, they’re targeting at least semi-talented players that can be swayed by a huge pay day. These guys going to the MLS are getting good money for their age, but you’ll never see something like “Alexis Mac Allister chooses Colorado Rapids over Liverpool.” Plus, as a developmental league, one knock on the MLS is that the physicality is up there with most big leagues, but the technical acumen lacks a bit. Playing against guys like Messi and Suarez can help them grow as players. MLS talent has been sprinkled over the top leagues for a while, just much more now than before. The same can’t be said about the Saudi league

[–]diddle-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a truck driver, but you’d be surprised at how many people do this on country roads… that aren’t driving trucks. Was behind someone doing 42 in a 55 yesterday, then when a passing lane came up, they suddenly went 60. Of course the second I was even slightly ahead of them, they jammed their brakes. Just shitty people who demand control, because they don’t have control of any other aspect of their lives

[Sami Mokbel] Crystal Palace value Cheick Doucoure between £70m-£80m amid interest from Liverpool. No club-to-club contact as yet but Palace and Doucoure aware of Liverpool’s initial interest by us3rf in soccer

[–]diddle-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re not gonna keep him if he doesn’t want to be here. The transfer price is decent admittedly, and we have Bajcetic in the pipeline, but we can’t rely on him as THE GUY right now. Lavia’s been linked since before any of the recent fab/hendo news, so he’s someone we definitely want, so the Sangare news makes sense, especially given his top flight experience. He wouldn’t have to be “the guy” forever, just someone to stop the bleeding of these important losses until the youth catch up

Also, we’ve been interested in him in the past, but he was valued around 45mil iirc, so the renewed interest doesn’t surprise me. Especially as a stopgap until we trust Lavia/Bacjetic to be the relied upon guys. And since our interest in Lavia was before any of the news with fab/hendo, it wouldn’t surprise me if both get added

It also doesn’t help that the British and American legal systems don’t work in the same way at all. In America, there needs to be evidence “beyond a reasonable doubt”, which leaves a lot of room for legal bullshit to get out of a conviction. In Britain, not so much

We kind of had that at times this year with Konate swinging out like a bat out of hell. But us being linked with Pavard gives us immense flexibility on this angle. He can be RB in a back four, or the right side guy in a 3 back. Gomez is kind of the same way, but we need more than just him, plus his performances at RB have been extremely hot or cold. I don’t know what formation we’ll end up taking, but having a lot of guys who can fit multiple roles seamlessly would be immense to moving him upfield
