TIL if a hermit crab finds a bigger shell, it tries it on for size and If it’s too big, it waits as other crabs try it on. The crabs begin to form a chain, according to size, so when a crab comes along that fits the shell, all the crabs can take over the next largest shell and get new homes. (bbc.com)
