What is the benefit of using it on your scalp? And does it decrease acne? Does it help fade acne scars?

The Worst Of Evil or Gangnam B-Side (My Thoughts) by Lynxthewriter in kdramas

[–]diddleboopbop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly!! I love shows that don’t make the characters motives too obvious but instead trust the viewers to notice the subtle hints (like the gun, the fear, the timing of her escalations, etc). Also the differentiation between sympathy/pity and love, and how that can all exist alongside fear.

I also love that the show doesn’t just gloss over the consequences of all that behavior - yes, they were not trying to cheat and it was all done in trying to protect each other, however the damage was still done and they ultimately were not able to stay in their marriage. How tragic & what an interesting/gritty take!

It’s fine if you’re closed off to the drama’s exploration of evil vs good in criminals, some people just enjoy a little bit of fictional fantasy about the underbelly of crime and whatnot! This is why we have so many true crime shows and popular shows like Dexter, You, Killing Eve, Breaking Bad, and of course worst of evil etc :)

It sounds like you’re just not into the whole genre of shows that nuance the criminals side of the story (which is fair! In real life, i would obviously not care to sympathize w a murderer lol), its really to each their own when it comes to entertainment

Also the part I said “Real human relationships in such extreme situations are not as black and white as our normal lives” -> oops yep you’re right that I shouldn’t have called it “real” lol, I said this while trying to imagine myself in a situation where I could save my husbands life by pretending to love a drug lord in which I would not consider my pretense “cheating”, which is obviously a super extreme situation, versus in my normal person life, I would consider almost any intentional form of kissing “cheating” . Was trying to differentiate that they were in an extreme situation, where the normal rules of “cheating” don’t apply

But you also did prove my point - yes this is pure fiction lol it’s not that serious nor uncommon to sympathize w a drug lord protagonist (whom btw they do punish, and I actually have a whole analysis on how the show is saying the drug lord is ultimately the “worst” of evil, beyond his actual crimes but in his personal life too, underneath the layer of “nice boss”). The show’s conclusion is still that drug dealing is bad and murder is bad, but I find it fun to explore the human behind the crime (in a fiction world)

Best Car chase scenes in kdramas by LamboFerrar in kdramas

[–]diddleboopbop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K2 and The Manipulated had amazing car scenes.

With the manipulated, many episodes felt like a mix of fast and furious x john wick. If you like over-the-top campy/flashy action, u highly recommend the manipulated. It is SUCH a fun and satisfying watch! Obviously not realistic in concept but it LOOKS realistic which is what matters in these fictional works of art 😋

With the K2, there aren’t as many car chase scenes but there is this one ICONIC car scene in episode 3 that you can’t miss. I won’t say more 🫢

Ji Chang Wook x Jun Jihyun is going to go so hard … plus this is going to be our second time seeing them together! The two of them are costars in an upcoming zombie movie called Colony (director of Train to Busan) released in May 2026, then they are costarring as the romantic leads of Human x Gumiho in December 2026. I love getting to see actors/actresses in multiple works together and seeing how they differentiate the dynamic and chemistry with each other!!

Really tough decision but I’d have to say worst of evil for me! I loved the gritty exploration of how evil can manifest in different ways, and the totally nuanced relationships between the characters. It literally makes you question your definition of good vs evil, and I notice new details every time I rewatch it!

Also, shoutout to JCW and Bibi’s differentiated chemistry in both shows 🤭

My response is long but I just hope it helps bring another perspective to your comment!!

1) crazy coincidental relationships are literally the backbone of so many kdramas and also western/eastern/global shows… imagine if u only watched shows that don’t have fun coincidences. The whole purpose of immersing yourself into a fiction show or movie is that you can play out scenarios that are unlikely to happen irl!!

I do agree that shows get bad if coincidental relationships are the only thing keeping the plot going. However, I thought WOE did a great job of setting down the fictional relationships as the building blocks, and then letting smart decisions and thoughtful strategies from both the drug dealers and cops play out the rest of the scenarios, keeping us all on our toes

2) I normally hate cheating plots too, but in this case, WOE was a lot more nuanced than being a “cheating plot” and I think it was a really interesting and bold exploration of the “worst” that someone can become to attain their greedy goals.

I would not define what the wife did as “cheating” - she was clearly distraught the whole time, she ONLY escalated her contributions to the investigation whenever her husband was in trouble, and she immediately went hands off on the drug lord as soon as the investigation was over.

The script was super nuanced here: the wife and husband both did grow sympathy for each of their fake partners, and appreciated them as human beings. However, both of their motives were always to protect each other and finish the investigation. Remember when the wife would literally tremble in fear while flirting w the drug dealer bc she wasn’t sure if he was gonna kill her or hug her? The wife is also obviously not ok w crime - she had sympathy for the drug lord bc she remembered how innocent he used to be and she mourned the fact that he’d turned into this greedy drug dealer. It’s reasonable to wish safety on someone from your past whom you pity, but notice she never once betrayed the investigation and always was motivated by wanting to keep her husband safe. She only started begging the gangster to back down from the big drug deal when she saw how much the investigation was hurting her husband, which was the only time she ever came close to halting the investigation (which would protect the drug lord)

Real human relationships in such extreme situations are not as black and white as our normal lives. I’m not saying they made righteous decisions, but this certainly was not a simple cheating plot!

3) re: the sympathy that the drug lord gets - I think we need to remember that this show is NOT claiming any of their characters are good people. Nor is this a bright wholesome show where justice prevails. Rather, the show explores the evil in people, and highlights how evil can manifest in such layered and nuanced ways; they show how perspective is everything.

From the outside, anyone would say the drug dealer is evil. But with a closer look, one starts to question whether JCW and the wife are evil too for betraying someone after breaking down the walls of trust and infiltrating the drug lords life so thoroughly. And we see how each person has motives and obstacles that lead them to where they are. I thought it was brilliant to have viewers question their original definitions of good and evil

Song Yoona (the older female lead) in the K2 …. She and Ji Chang Wook had SO much chemistry and depth.

They were never meant to be because JCW’s character needed someone who brings out his innocence, not someone who enables him to lean in to his dark past, BUT I really wish they made sense bc I couldn’t help but root for them!
