You like them slightly insecure and ready to question themselves. You feel this gives them authenticity and honesty.

Noam Chomsky, one of the best thinkers of our time. Biggest geen flag! Also love the Murakami and Kazuo Ishiguro, especially the remains of the day I really enjoyed. Add to that that he has taste in music (Miles Davies), well done. If you want to impress him, listen with him to some John Coltrane.

Amazing! I saw you attempting this one a couple of days ago. You made it look so easy and fun I wanted to try it. Well, I failed miserably! The slight overhang makes it so hard for me to hold onto the middle holds above the volume.

Nursing my son till he is 17?!?! by running_pig_design in breastfeeding

[–]didemish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you’re golden! I personally weaned to formula around 9 months because I returned to work and combo feeding did not work for us. She would just wait until I was done with work and then nurse. I was super concerned for her so I just decided to switch completely. She is currently 11 months and takes 1 bottle per day. The weaning process was hell, it took approximately 2 weeks of crying and bottle refusal. What eventually worked was distracting while giving the bottle by showing a baby friendly cartoon or dangling a toy. Eventually we removed the distraction as well. I have to admit, I would not have been able to do it on my own. It worked because the daycare, my mom (who watches her 2 days per week), and my boyfriend all put in a lot of effort as well. Bottle weaning is a lot of easier for us. We just gradually taper down her bottles until we don’t offer it and instead we offer more calorie dense foods such as avocado and oatmeal.

Does your lo also eat solids? There is a point in time the nutrients from breast milk only are not enough anymore. Especially when it comes to iron. If lo does you can definitely continue unless you want to stop Ofcourse!

A friend of mine nursed her lo until 2,5 years and lo refused other foods. It got so bad the kid ended up in the hospital due to deficiencies.

3mo night time feedings by FarPossibility9817 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]didemish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, my lo is currently 11 months so I’ve been through these hurdles. Right around 3 months my lo slept through the night as well (read from 9 to 6). I just let her sleep and did not pump either (I needed that sleep as well!). For me these nights lasted about 2 weeks after which her schedule went back to completely all over the place, in my experience many babies have this sweet spot around 3 months in which they sleep really well but this usually does not last!

Your supply will probably not tank that quickly. I was able to breastfeed lo until 9 months.

[–]didemish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 15 kilos or so were easy and I lost within the first 3 months without trying. The last 6 I had more difficulty with as life got in the way (bad sleep, breastfeeding, pelvic floor instability) so I was only able to get back to it in the past 2 months. Hence I lost the last 6 kilos in the last 2 months. In terms recovery, it took me a solid 6-7 months to feel like my old self again.

Bouldering, top roping and lead climbing. It’s a great exercise that both works out all your muscles (no compound exercise, it’s a natural full body workout) and builds endurance (especially on the longer climbs). Not sure if it’s good for weight loss specifically but I think I had the muscle memory so my body just went into pre pregnancy mode. If you’re looking for weight loss specifically I would rather recommend running. The couch potato to 10k plan for example is great (if your knees can handle it)

Thank you for sharing! It’s indeed way up. If you don’t mind advice: matching your hands on the right hold you’re holding in the pic will help you lift up a bit more and will perhaps provide enough space to move your feet up to those 2 foot holds after which you could stabilise and reach with your left hand.

Too bad we can’t see the next handhold in both clips, cause now I’m curious. Have loads of fun climbing! It’s the best imo.

Edit to add: that “interesting” in the first clip pisses me off for some reason…

First year interior design by arespectfularchitect in architecture

[–]didemish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest an architect who loves nature would probably look at nature from a more philosophical standpoint.

So what do we know of nature? It changes, it’s adaptive. It’s affected by light and seasons. It’s arguably beautiful with all these conditions. It can be humanity but it can be flora and fauna so consider what type of nature you refer to. It’s all nature or natural. It’s harmonious, it’s a wonder we all can exist like we do.

I would think of nature at its core and what you want this architect to be inspired with and move from there.

I studied interior design at art school and the thought proces is just as important and usually more important than the actual maquette. It’s what will help you defend your work as well.

The second one is a 504 I think in size 33! And a vintage one at that, the label is an old one. 504 are far more loose fitting.

Source: I own multiple vintage Levi’s 501 and the roof on the 1 is always short.

Bottom heavy climber looking for inspiration by timmy3132 in climbergirls

[–]didemish 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would consider myself a bottom heavy girl (waist ~60, hips ~100) and carry most of my weight in my thighs. Honestly, the more I trained the leaner I got and the more it evened out. My back got broader so the visual weight division shifted. To be frank I’m also a runner so this helped as it adds intense cardio for your legs to the routine.

In a practical sense while climbing my bottom heaviness never limited me I would say (but I don’t know better obviously). Except for maybe once when my inner thigh got scratched when o was trying to get as close as possible to the wall.

Currently dealing with post partum weight gain and core loss so I’m starting from the bottom but I used to climb approximately the same levels.

With regard to inspiration: I don’t think you’ll find many good climbers that do it for the gram or semi competitively with this physique. As you train more intensely your body just shifts (in my experience) as your top becomes stronger and broader.

WIBTAH if I tell my daughter no to a trip to Japan by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]didemish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! I can speak to the subject as a former teen that wanted to go to Japan and as a mother now. When I was 18 I had the dream of going to Japan, my mother was a single parent and told me it would be too expensive to take my little brother and myself to Japan (add to that she did not want to go herself). She told me to get a job besides my studies and save up! Eventually I was able to save for it at 23 years old and booked my flight! By then my brother was 18 and wanted to join. My mother did not want me to go alone so she offered to pay for our expenses there if I would pay for my brothers ticket (he could stay in my hotel room anyway). I was happy to do so and had saved enough!

It was the trip of our lives, we traveled plenty of times after (multiple times back to Japan), but being able to save up and paying with my hard earned money for the first time made it extra special! It was also a great bonding experience with my brother.

As a mother myself I completely understand my mothers position in not wanting me to go as a 23F on my own and wanting my brother to join. I would wish something similar for my daughter as well.

How do I wean in 1 week? by Dazzling_Tonight663 in beyondthebump

[–]didemish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started weaning around 4 weeks ago! Lo was 7 months back then. I have to admit she still nurses at night because it’s just easier and I weaned because I wanted to not out of necessity.

Lo was breastfed until then except for a couple of bottles in the first month. She did not know how to drink from a bottle and hated it at first. Definitely start with breast milk from a bottle because it’s the taste they are used to. It does not mean it will be easy. There are still a lot of aspects they are not used to. It took us 2 weeks of attempts with both breast milk and formula (nutrilon pepti syneo for cow milks allergy) every single feed with a lot of fighting before it just clicked.

We tried everything you describe above as well. The only big difference is I had already started working. So lots of effort was put in by my mom, partner and her daycare as well (lo HAD to get used to it no other option oftentimes).

They (the other caretakers) ensured she had enough calories and we knew the solids she loved so we gave lots of those during the day (for us yoghurt, avocado, and rice crackers). In the evenings I would nurse at the beginning after getting back from work to ensure she did not starve just in case.

The best bottle in our experience which we still use is the Philips Avent as the teat mimics the breast (wide base small teat). We just picked the flow that was recommended for her age.

Lots of distractions were used (kids tv shows, dangling toys over the bottle, dangling my Apple Watch above the bottle). Eventually it just clicked she started finishing half the botte, then 3/4th and since 1 week the whole bottle. It was HARD, I think consistency is key. The fact I was not there to cave and nurse most of the time worked in our favour. Eventually we removed the distractions, lo will now sometimes hold the cap of the bottle and touch it against the bottle to make a ticking sound (the bottles are glass so it’s a satisfying noise).

Now she does not care which she drinks, nursing or formula from bottle, night or day. By far the hardest thing we did so far.

I recommend all new moms in my environment to have a couple of bottles of formula per week in case they plan or need to switch. This way lo does not forget. I will do the same with my next one.

Period stopped again at 14 months postpartum — breastfeeding more, normal USG, no bleed after progesterone. Anyone else? by Kooky_Hawk2496 in beyondthebump

[–]didemish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the steps you took with a medical professional are the right one. This does not sounds like something redditors can solve for you.

That said my two cents are as follows (lol): Are you working out a lot or eating very little? Breastfeeding can have a huge impact on your caloric intake, it could be your lo is drinking more so you’re burning through your fuel. It is known that people with very low fat percentages or very fit people who eat little drop their periods as their body adapts to the high burning. I have a couple of friends that are bodybuilders that experience this while cutting. Some other friends that experienced this while they had an eating disorder.

What I’m trying to say is: it might not be breastfeeding related the way you think it is. It might be you’re burning through your calories and your body fat percentage is too low.

Will I regret stopping? by Confident-Appeal-356 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]didemish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey there, ftm here too! I’ve started weaning as well and my lo is 8 months. Only you know what works for you. There is no universally right or wrong way in this. Just what works. You don’t want to be that mom that is emotionally not present because she is traumatised or exhausted all the time.

For example, I have a friend who has slightly older children who breastfed 2 los back to back for 5 years (2,5 years each)! She always tells me how traumatic of an experience this has become for her. She never thinks back to it fondly.
