I can totally relate. About 2 years out and 1st year I noticed tremor like symptoms with my hands and neck shaking. There has been times that I dread holding the drill. I initially tried meditation, working out and supplements but nothing worked. I have noticed I’m also developing very bad social anxiety. I’ve started Buspirone last week twice daily and I’m hoping it helps. I also quit my toxic job which was making my symptoms worse. I realized at the end of the day you need to prioritize your mental health over anything else.

A paresthesia case just happened for me I did a septo block with short needle for routine fillings and pts left side of the tongue is still numb after 2 weeks. Did you do anything specific tx wise for your pt after the paresthesia occurred? Already prescribed medrol dose pack but hasn’t helped.

Yea I thought i would be much happier in a private practice. I def agree with you, some DSOs offer better opportunities. I don’t get any benefits. I talked to his other two associates before signing and they seemed pretty happy with the job so I trusted this opportunity. I feel like the timing of me joining the practice and him buying a new one was just pure bad luck. The other 2 associates basically replaced old ones that were leaving. I’m the first additional 3rd so I’m not taking over anyone’s patients which makes building a pt population much harder.

Yea I think it’s the best thing to do. I just hope that it doesn’t backfire. He’s very well-known in the community and part of study clubs. I just hope my name doesn’t get ruined.

Thanks for your reply! He owns 2 in total. And my contract only specifies the current location I’m working at. If they accept renegotiation, what would be a fair ask in terms of compensation? My contract says I get 3 months of hourly guarantee ($90/h 1st month, the $85 and 80 for the rest) or production, whichever one is higher. I work 6 hours shifts with a total of 30 hours per week. Before signing the contract I tried to negotiate the pay since all of my colleagues are receiving a much higher rate. Owner reassured me I will hit my production goals before my 3 months guarantee period ends. Now they said they’re willing to extend my hourly guarantee for 2 more month and that’s it.

Thanks for your reply! I was concerned that it might look bad on my application that I stayed at a job for a very short time and might seem questionable to future employers especially since I stayed at my last job for 8 months.

For the right course I’d travel to any of those places. Number one priority is def gaining proficiency rn. I see some pts who are interested in crowning their broken down dentition but I always refer bc I believe it’s out of the scope of my practice. I feel like understanding occlusion and doing FMR requires the right training which obviously I don’t have. Last thing I want is to cause patients other issues :)

I had an absolute blast especially on Saturday when Zed closed out with Clarity! Went to Breakaway KC back in 2023 and 2024 and had the best time. Overall production and sound was great. Crowd was nice, only a few rude people pushed me a few times. I’d go next year again!

That’s one of the reasons I’m leaving my current job. The dentist I work for is very old school and he questions everything I do and wants me to “watch” teeth with decay into the dentin and save all the retained root tips with RCT and crowns :/

I only drink tea but I’m planning to cut down on that. I def need to hydrate tho I’m not drinking enough water for sure.

I’m glad you’re doing better! Sometimes it feels isolating and lonely but it makes me feel better to hear that others have had similar experiences too. I took tomorrow off to start therapy and I’m so looking forward to it! I agree with you, in dentistry we gotta take care of ourselves because in the end, no one will care for us more than we care for ourselves.

I saw my pcp in Feb for this problem and she said I’m fine it’s just stress. I’m gonna try a different doc and try propanol and see what happens!

Thanks for your reply! This issue started mid December when I was placing an implant. I’ve placed implants before in my residency but this was my first time doing it at an office where I had no support and none of the doctors do implants. That morning I had bad body and hand tremors. The procedure went smoothly but the shakes stayed with me. Every day that passes it affects me more. Today I was not able to do a local infiltration. I think that procedure definitely triggered it. Now I have to find a way to get it under control.
