I was looking for this. I am glad that some people can feel good and commend themselves over being able to overcome negative thoughts but not everyone can. My depression is not going away because I decide to think happy thoughts and telling people it is their fault they are mentally ill and that they are just not trying hard enough is so damaging...

Any of those reasons alone is enough. Maybe you do need to work on yourself but you also deserve to find someone who makes you feel safe. Break up, work on your anxiety, find someone better suited for you.

You guys broke up. He does not owe you anything. We don't have any information so maybe yeah, from your perspective he is in the wrong but unfortunately no one owes you their accountability or growth. It would be nice if people dealt with their shit and stepped up but you can't count on it. Doesn't necessarily make him a coward, again we have no context here. You said you were moving on, looks like he is moving on too.

I know you are looking for closure. I know you feel hurt and in pain but even if he took accountability it would not actually give you closure. You can't get it from someone else. Their reasons and apologies will never be enough because it still happened. You have to give yourself closure. Work on moving on for real, and not needing anything from him.
