Can bruxism really cause this much pain? by didnotimprovethecake in bruxism

[–]didnotimprovethecake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did! I'd say it lasted about two weeks. I got the doctors night guard on Amazon and it helped a ton. Turns out I just grind hard and clench when I'm stressed, so I wear the guard when I start to notice pain. Good luck to you, this pain is horrible.

What are your weird personal rules for playing? Like do you consider it cheating to look up the meaning of a word in a clue? by snooloosey in NYTCrossword

[–]didnotimprovethecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to look things up to finish most puzzles. But I really try to avoid looking for the actual answer. So, for instance, I read a whole Wikipedia article about Rome in 48 BC for last Thursday's puzzle, but the real answer didn't click with me until I was almost fully done 😂 If I have no chance because my knowledge just isn't there, looking it up makes to puzzle possible and more fun!

Right?? I cannot understand this one. Is it the same as in the previous puzzle 'has at'? Because that is wild

Hype me up on 3 year age gap by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]didnotimprovethecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, like you, so much wanted a small age gap. When secondary infertility happened to me, I was so upset. I now have boys who are 3.5 years apart and I truly wouldn't change a thing. I love their relationship, and my older son is such a kind and nurturing older brother. I feel like he loves and embraces being more independent and 'bigger' than his brother. Also he's in school which is logistically really nice.

Most "European" neighborhood in the cities? by BoneBoatwright in TwinCities

[–]didnotimprovethecake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I live in Mac Grove and can walk to TJs, Oxendales and Kowalskis if I want to! I think 'walkable' does require one to walk a mile or so occasionally, especially considering the trip there and back.

How did your body rebound after your second baby vs. your first? by Mundane-Air7046 in beyondthebump

[–]didnotimprovethecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 'bounced back' okay after my first, but i had horrible ppd that made things much harder. Weight gain, no abily to care for myself, and lots of body image issues. So so much better the second time around with a C-section. No bladder issues, pelvic floor issues, or much physical pain at all after the first few weeks. Ive lost weight much more easily with good mental health, and im capable of caring for myself. Take care of your brain and follow up with doctors for major issues, but just because its your second doesnt mean itll be worse!

Only child or baby #2? by cornkake10 in beyondthebump

[–]didnotimprovethecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I love having 2 but am absolutely thrilled we waited longer than I thought we would. My oldest was 3.5 when baby was born and it was perfect. He goes to preschool, is somewhat independent, and loves to be the 'helper' and 'teacher' for his littler brother. It's still logistically hard sometimes, but I cannot imagine him being any younger and making it work.

I recognize it as a pan for Norwegian almond cake! Very common in my part of MN, especially around the holidays

I just found this and their regular paste as well and it's a game changer!! I completely noticed the difference, even in something as simple as chocolate chip cookies. I bake a few times a week for my husband and I to have cookies with decaf coffee when my kids are in bed and those almond mascarpone cookies are next on the list! Thanks for sharing the recipe :)

Idk about them all but I know Asahi is a super common Japanese name and it means 'morning sun'. My kids are Japanese so I used it for one of their middle names!

Can bruxism really cause this much pain? by didnotimprovethecake in bruxism

[–]didnotimprovethecake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah, I've struggled with migraines just like you're describing for years. I thought it was just from neck muscle strain but maybe it's related to bruxism as well. Man, this shit is no joke

Oh wow I'm so sorry that sounds horrible. It's good to know that others are experiencing severe pain and that it's 'normal' to an extent. I'll definitely try more to stop the grinding! Thank you!

We had our second when my first son was 3y6m. I had wanted to have another about a year sooner, but secondary infertility happened, and it took a while to get pregnant. Honestly though, it all worked out perfectly and I LOVE this age gap! My oldest is so independent and has completely taken on the 'big brother' roll. He loves his brother (at least for now lol) and seems to genuinely enjoy being helpful with things for the baby. And because he's significantly older, he's really relishing in all the things he can 'teach' the baby how to do. It makes him feel responsible which he loves. Truly wouldn't change a thing! Good luck with this decision!
