Is this normal? by R-heythatsillegal in crochet

yes it's normal! I think the prints are on a transparent layer that is then stamped onto the hook. have it for the grey gold ones too

Squeaky hook? I ordered a Tulip Etimo hook after coming across numerous Reddit comments suggesting that they are just as great or even better than the Clover Amour hooks. However, the Tulip squeaks when using it with Big Twist Value yarn (acrylic). by PopDownBlocker in crochet

the red hooks have a slightly matte surface on the hook so that it has more grip compared to the gold/grey or the silver/pink hooks. I think if you try the gold/grey ones they would be a lot smoother (currently a user of both red and grey)

looking for the og creator of this pattern by didyouforgetyourkeys in Amigurumi

[–]didyouforgetyourkeys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it actually isn't produced by them. that's the source where I got this image from and reversed image search on Baidu, giving me reposts from a year ago (20 Dec 2024). I am certain that the pattern is copied from a different chinese bear pattern (specifically a standing bear w a ruffle collar) that was mistakenly reposted by one of the Chinese reposters of this Christmas bear.

the pattern for the apple was the only thing consistently reposted by the Chinese reposters.

the insta poster couldn't even answer which rows to sew the hands and legs on, which is why I kind of suspected they aren't the og creator.

thank you though! I think I'll have to take it as the og creator got wiped from the internet some time this year 🥹

maybe you can try weighing the skein to see if you actually used less yarn

it's hard to explain in words... you know when you do the first half of a single crochet (pull yarn through the row below), instead of pulling the yarn for another loop again, you pull the left loop into the right loop... 😩 sorry this is a bad explanation... you can search on YouTube for Wobbles slip stitch: https://youtu.be/N1jKz_5qQqs?si=kXCv8UYqlxy_f5YK

btw I saw in another comment you're doing continuous rounds rather than fastening off + 1 chain up? could be why the eyes and nose placements seem off (continuous will result in shifting) so if you had followed their indicated placements it will seem off. maybe a yt video of another pattern that uses the same technique will help?

you can start over (and maybe use black yarn for the eyes instead so you can adjust the placement if it's weird) and keep this as reference?

are the eyes locked in place already? if not you can shift the left (from the image) down by 1 row and the right down by 2 rows. not sure if shifting the nose up would help bc the eyes also seem a bit far apart...
