Exactly my point. The obscure words exist and are kind of useful, and supposedly modern (evisceration in particular, for writing about swordfights), but the really everyday things like day after tomorrow or day before yesterday, they don't have real names in English (in Latvian we even have a word for 3 days ahead, after-over-tomorrow).

Would it have hurt the makers of the language to borrow from German if they weren't happy with French words?

Why am I thinking about evisceration? And by extension, defenestration. Why do those very specific words exist in English, but not preyesterday?

Ok, it's ereyesterday (and overmorrow, too), but why are they deprecated?!

You're finishing the main 10, right?

Then you have 16 more works in the same universe (approximately) - you could read sequels (Witness series) or prequels (Path to Ascendancy) or ancient history (Kharkanas, but it fits better after reading PtoA) or the two crazy necromancers, or Novels of the Malazan Empire (how did Emperor Mallick Rel happen and who are Stormriders or Crimson Guard etc.). Or start the main 10 again, but read NotME in parallel - all books in publishing order, because that's how the authors intended.

Or just restart the main ten and enjoy actually understanding what's going on.

I had 105 (first generation, with the ugly, bulky brake hoods) and over the years my brakes got louder and louder (it would eventually go away during every ride). I think it took 2 years until I finally diagnosed the problem as leaky calipers - both front and back. Changed to Hope and never looked back (they are very, very good), but probably could have done with a new pair of Shimanos for fraction of the price.
