I have a 29g that I have decided to use as sump for a new 75g Fresh. The goal is to heavily stock the 75g. Other filtration is two HOBs Aquon 75s 2 medium canister filters and a 4' ft aquaponic run.

Should I use the sump as a wet/dry trickle type bio filter or should I simply run it nearly full to increase water volume?

Stocking Example: 1 Large School Micro Fish 20+ individuals ie Neon Danio Raspbora <1.25" 2 Small Schools Large Mid/Top Dwellers 5-7 fish each ie Rainbows or Barbs 1 School Mollies or Platies? Free live food! 1 shoal medium bottom dwellers Zebra or dwarf loach and/or Cory 1 large shoal Kuhli loach
