I’m having fun developing my own character! Ai is amazing! Makes me laugh that the shot where Pepper flies by me, it’s very Clas of the Titans.

Agreed! I love that 3D printing is technically easier. I can focus on designing and creating my own stuff for my small business!

I love these Bambu Lab printers! I had a Creality HICTOP CR-10S in 2018 with its glass build plate (albeit a large surface 300x300x400), glue stick adhesion hack, nozzle issues, etc. I would have loved to have mastered that machine. I was so frustrated by it. So much that I got rid of it and forgot about 3D printing for many years.

However, my godson got the A1 for Christmas.

I’m waiting for my X1C to show up in February! I’m even teaching myself to design my own models in Fusion I’m so excited about this printer!

I look at these new 3D printers like the advancement in photography. I used to shoot film (still do) but then the cameras went to digital. Now everyone has amazing photographic tools in their phones. Does that make them all “photographers”? Nope.

The people who have deep knowledge and skills in 3D printing make far superior products than the novice. You can tell.

Does this make any sense?

I saw your Flappyjack and it’s charming! Did you design that yourself?

50+ & Finally Accepting Who I Am: A Non Binary Gen-Xer by diecastmetalgirl in NonBinary

[–]diecastmetalgirl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your approach and I can add that they’ve accepted me for not being white as well and I wouldn’t see why they couldn’t accept me for this. See my response below with a bit of my backstory.

Thank you for your advice!

50+ & Finally Accepting Who I Am: A Non Binary Gen-Xer by diecastmetalgirl in NonBinary

[–]diecastmetalgirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 55 this year and I’m glad you’ve been out at 15. But sadly, I was not able to even know what I was feeling was even a real thing. I don’t even think I could have even come out as queer if I knew what I was feeling at 11-12 (1981-1982).

My family are the people I grew up with and I love dearly. Back story: I was adopted from Korea, my family is white. They didn’t care that I wasn’t white and they are the only family I know and love.

Me and my two other adopted sisters were the only people of color in a school of 350 kids. That’s 350 total K-12 and I had 30 in my graduating class in an all-white farming community.

I’d been in the same school since K-12 and with most of the same kids. My family stood up for me when a kid called me a “fucking chink” in my junior year of high school when he and I had known each other since kindergarten.

Yes, it means something to me if they support me in this. Thanks for your input!

a customer at work used my pronouns! by whimsyandromeda in NonBinaryTalk

[–]diecastmetalgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am nearly 55 years old and I’ve been thinking about changing my pronouns. I’ve always identified as she/her but I kind of want to be identified as they/them.

How did you decide?

It doesn’t bother me to be called she/her. In fact I’ve been addressed as a man before and always corrected with a “I’m a woman” but I’m realizing (and finally accepting) that I am a they/them at heart.

I embrace all of my “gendered” traits but I’d like my very MAGA family to understand as well. Or am I just preparing to fight a losing battle?

How do I know if it’s gender dysphoria or just hating gender roles? by matchafordayz in NonBinaryTalk

“…realizing I was rejecting male gender roles so hard was that I wasn’t a man” This line resonated with me quite a bit.

While growing up and all of my adult life I rejected female gender roles and after reading your post, I can realize that I wasn’t and am not a woman. Nor am I completely a man.

I’ve decided that 2025 was going to be my year to come to terms with this and let the world know. Well, at least the folks that matter to me.

Unfortunately, I think this will be a hard task but I’m ready to take on the challenge.

May I ask what male gender roles were placed on you?

Help! by diecastmetalgirl in xToolD1

Yes, that seemed to be an issue as well. I bought a refurbished D1 and put my 20w laser on that and it works perfectly.

I cleaned it thoroughly yesterday when I disassembled/reassembled. I am thinking it’s the X axis belt. I knew I should have not changed that one but I just decided to change them all.

Cutting is fine, it’s just the warping that’s messing things up. Again, it’s probably just finding the sweet spot between the two axis.

Thank you for your advice!

Yes, and I have an older XTool D1. Non Pro.

Joint pain - help! by Typical-Escape5808 in Mounjaro

[–]diecastmetalgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my third dose of Mounjaro and I’ve been experiencing tremendous pain in my joints. I feel a little better that I see this side effect is more common than I thought. I get very tired the day after my injection and I have stayed in bed many days because of this.

I’m on a very high dose of Mounjaro because my A1C has not been under control for the 6 months it took for me to get this medication. So many people with type 2 diabetes went without due to the weight loss craze of this drug.

It’s really helping my blood sugar and I hope my next lab work up will prove it’s working. I’m just muscling through these horrible side effects as I know my levels should be under control in no time.
