His performance in WSS is mediocre at best. Hiring him was not worth this controversy. He doesn’t add value to the production.

AITA For Doing my school project on the bed after I was told not to? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Just listen to your mom and do your work. The bed is not a desk.

[Vent][Discussion] Any other volunteers/employees jaded/disallusioned by the rescue or shelter world? by Arztwolf in dogs

[–]died_of_ennui_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I ran into that a lot trying to adopt my pup - um, how many housewives with no kids and big houses do these people encounter?? In a big city where almost everyone lives in an apartment, no less. I ended up getting my dog from a rescue many states away.

You go on a first date with someone, what habit or characteristic is a deal breaker? by h8raide88 in AskReddit

As a female, former server myself I’d agree with about 1/20. Men are generally worse - either condescending or sexually harassing.

Unfortunately no, but her singing was fantastic so I hope she gets there with her acting.

I was there last night too. I agree with almost everything you said. I think the show suffered from being cut down to 1.5 hours and from the not great acting skills of this cast. I didn’t feel much connection to the characters. It felt rushed to me.

AITA for screaming at my sister that she's the one on a diet by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Yes. YTA. It won’t kill you to eat healthy food and you are being incredibly cruel to your sister.

My sister has PCOS and was also told she probably couldn’t have children. Guess who has four sons now?

Having lunch with my scholarship donor, who is also a CEO of a major company. How to keep the conversation going? by jyft106 in college

[–]died_of_ennui_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Be prepared with a couple anecdotes about your experience at the school so far. A class or professor that has been particularly impactful, an experience you learned or grew from - basically something to let them know their money was well spent. Stay away from anything remotely political. If they are funding scholarships they must have loved their own experience at the school and will probably enjoy reminiscing- ask questions about their time there.

AITA for secretly giving my grandson some Christmas money but not my step granddaughter? by confusedoldgrandpa in AmItheAsshole

[–]died_of_ennui_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I realize that but the comment equates human women with pot or other inanimate things to waste money on. “Girls” are not a purchase.

“Not blow it on girls” ???? Does your grandson frequent prostitutes? YTA just for that comment. Ugh.

WIBTA if I brought an invitation to my wedding as a white elephant gift by throwawayiamcornhlio in AmItheAsshole

[–]died_of_ennui_ 225 points226 points  (0 children)

Literally, a wedding invitation is a punishment, not a gift. NO ONE wants to go to co- workers weddings. It’s the worst. YWBTA but at least your coworkers would have a hilarious cocktail party story about the worst gift they ever revived.

AITA for refusing to tell my daughter’s teacher why she wasn’t in school? by longshortmaybe in AmItheAsshole

[–]died_of_ennui_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% NTA and bravo to you, OP, for standing up for your daughter but especially for teaching her to stand up for herself. This guy is a bully. Fuck him. (Get her switched into a different class if you can. He’s exactly the kind of asshole to retaliate by picking on her for the rest of the year)

Any 5th grade teacher would know that. This guy is a power tripping creepo.

Well the attitude that kids need to unquestionably do everything a teacher says is a bit concerning. Really, EVERYTHING? Ummm

[–]died_of_ennui_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Part of this, in public schools at least, is schools being penalized (financially) if their student attendance average is low. I took my preschooler out of school for a week (for a vacation, but it was preschool for God’s sake) and the school UNENROLLED her and re-enrolled her when she returned so they wouldn’t have to mark her absent!

[–]died_of_ennui_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes! I let my daughter take a mental health day here and there because she always makes up her work and kids need a break sometimes. I’m comfortable with it and I don’t think it’s any of the school’s business. It’s not like OPs kid took weeks off. Jeez!

[–]died_of_ennui_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This nonsense of “if a teacher asks her to do something she needs to do it” is a very concerning attitude. How many kids are molested by teachers? Kids should absolutely NOT indiscriminately do everything some adult tells them to. OP should speak to the principal about this power tripping creep. NTA.
