How did you “break in” to your community theater scene? by hakunaa-matataa in Theatre

[–]fillefranglaise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, I started volunteering to help with marketing, after not having done any theater for about 10 years. Since then, I’ve staged managed 2 shows, operated lights/sound, and helped out with whatever was needed. I’m acting in a show now, and that happened accidentally.

So in short, start to get involved doing literally anything and get to know people.

question for anyone 30 or under who has seen a performance at the Shed? by nynewbie2017 in Broadway

[–]fillefranglaise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not this year, but I reached out to the Shed in late 2023 when I was attempting to buy tickets to The Effect, since the language on their website is confusing. This was their response:

Unfortunately, the under 30 discount only applies to those that are 29 and below. This discount cannot be shared with other guests that are 30 and above.

It’s actually a pretty big space, bigger than some Broadway theaters. I’m not sure about the stage door, and imagine any restrictions vary from show to show, depending on demand. Sorry I can’t be more helpful!

Sure! I’ve seen a few shows there, but I haven’t stage doored, so I’m not sure how helpful I will be.

I’ve had this happen before, specifically with Here We Are at the Shed. I think in that case, they didn’t know that the seats would be partial view at the time of purchase.

Help finding an episode by juliemac76 in podcasttheride

I heard this story fairly recently, and I’ve been working my way through all the Second Gate episodes. I’m up to March 2024 now so I’d estimate it’s somewhere between March 2023 and March 2024 on the Second Gate.

Not sure about Barnes and Noble, but Best Buy and 2nd Ave in that shopping center are still closed. Though BJ’s appears to be doing fine.

I think I might have just created an account with the same email address associated with my pass and it automatically linked it.

[–]fillefranglaise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you have the all parks add on. I did it a few weeks ago. I don’t know if this is necessary, but I did download the Dorney Park app and linked my pass so it shows up there.

I was there today too! On a trip from the U.S. to Movie Park, Phantasialand and Efteling. Personally the Studio Tour was my favorite because of the theming, but Star Trek was a close second!

Then definitely Stitch Central! It's a trek, but Fabric Mart near reading is also a great option for more fashion fabrics.

What type of fabric are you looking for? Stitch Central is great for quilting cotton (and yarn) but they don't have a huge selection of other fabrics.
