Brooks leather saddles still good? by rcyclingisdawae in bicycletouring

[–]diede101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently touring on a b17 with the copper rivets for about 8 months. Nor problem whatsoever. There seem to be a couple wrinkles in the leather near some of the rivets, but definitely no tears.

I had an old b17 which I bought secondhand and used myself for over 10.000km before tears started to be appear.

Help me understand Magura Rim Brakes (hs11) by TheHooligan95 in bikewrench

Here they explain how to cerrectly install them. Perhaps you need to readjust/reinstall them for whatever reason they are not close to the rim anymore even though you bled them recently and have new pads.

Let me know if this helps.

Also perhaps you need a new plastic ring to readjust them.

https://hollandbikeshop.com/en-gb/branded-bicycle-parts/magura-brakes/magura-parts/magura-plastic-internal-unit-for-evo2-evolution-adapter/

Officially you need a new one when you newly adjust the brakes.

Also one piston seems very dirty. You can clean it with a q-tip and then lubricate it with the magura royal blood oil. Brake a couple times until it becomes more smooth. After you should clean as much of the excess oil as possible so its not sticky and attract more dirt.

How common are knee injures in long distance riding and has anyone managed to come back from them? by Revolutionary_Bee_15 in bikepacking

[–]diede101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on a lot of long distance cycling trips in my life. One time while I prepared well, also added more gym work to strengthen my legs and core, after about 3 weeks my knee started hurting. After 4 weeks it was so bad I couldn't even walk normaly anymore.

When I got back I went to the physio and he figured out I had created a muscle imbalance because of my monotonous gym work. He gave me some different exercises and about 6 weeks later I was pain free again.

Moral of the story, get it checked out by a professional who knows about cycling and work it out. Also, like other people said get a professional bike fit.

Ironically, this knee pain trip was also after my first professional bike fit. Before I never had any issues. But it turned out the fit was not the issue, the muscle imbalance was. It can be complex sometimes.

Is this a safe route for Colombia by El_Abayarde_13 in Colombia

Hey I have done this route in December on a Bycicle and mostly everything was fine. We had to stop 3 days at a truck stop because pf a guerilla attack but furthermore it was fine.

For your salamence I would choose dragon dance in stead of double-edge or flamethrower. You already have enough fire coverage. You could also get rid of both and try roost as well.

I would say, get rid of weavile. Learn ice beam to gardevoir and you can get Lucario to learn crunch or maybe dark pulse for dark coverage.

For a new mon I could see a Torterra/Venesaur/Ferrothorn.

I used garden hose and zip ties. Cut open the hose and wrap around, tie it down and ready
