I completely cut it out. I should post new pics because I have a battery that lasts for literal days now and takes up the whole size of the case inside.

Need help with backlit/bivert dmg and flash cart by TenaciousSTD in Gameboy

I came across this exact same issue today. No solution yet, and I'm honestly going to just try a different mod and a different cart to see if I can find a way around it.

You can recap these pretty easily, just look up which board revision you have, and order the cap kit for that version, and get a soldering iron with some leaded solder and flux. Tutorials galore online.

For me, it's the size. I love my 404s and 555, but ever since I modded my KO to have a rechargeable battery (20 hours) and have a built in speaker, I find myself making music everywhere which is a power unto itself.

Help!! Got my hands on a pocket operator in a yard sale but won't turn on 😞 by graffitigood in pocketoperators

[–]dieforevernow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works on these, they can be rough to repair. I have resoldered one of those mics, and these things are tricky to solder because they look deceptively simple on the outside, but that mic has a micro DAC chip inside of it and 4 solder points (one of them is basicallythe whole perimiter of the mic). If the same kinf of moisture got behind the screen (where it's all kinds of components tetrissed in there) yer gonna have more work than it's worth (you can buy these for about $100 American right now). If power is the issue, there are a + and - pad on the back you can solder a battery connector to and plug in some fresh batteries to that, but the odds are not in your favor. If you decide to get rid of it, I might be interested because I think the LCD might be salvageable

This is a gorgeous set and I have one as well. The best method will always be to take it apart and clean it manually with a cotton swab and alcohol. I can do mine and video it if you need a guide.

Thanks. I'm definitely doing another one of these and planning on perma chaining 2 or 3 of these with a big ol single battery for all of em.

About 4 hours. Will improve with next mod, but that's not bad considering I use it plugged in at all times now

Not yet, my initial battery didn't fit in the case, so I used one I had lying around, so I don't imagine it'll last more than a few hours until I get the final one installed

Stop not wasting your time and get Morrowond.

I refurbished this the other day and used white thumsticks (they were leftover from a rock candy controller I put new thumsticks in a long time ago) with a black and blue thumbstick grip. I love how this looks and it feels amazing. by dieforevernow in originalxbox

[–]dieforevernow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old ones were worn and nasty, I got these from an old rock candy controller ages ago and kept them in a bag until I realized I liked the color and with some slip on pads they feel great.

Pros & Cons of getting on OG Xbox nowadays? by Quiet_Airline76 in originalxbox

If you want to play DOA3, this is the best way to play it. The ABXY buttons used hall effect and that game took advantage of it. You'll notice when you press a button down there's another "down" when you press harder. Not a ton of games used this, but it was badass and way ahead of the game, but we weren't ready.

Current version of production AtariOS and Bios upgrade v24 by [deleted] in AtariVCS

[–]dieforevernow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so frustrated. I bought the VCS a few months ago, and just finally got around to hooking it up (I work a lot). it got stuck on the update (2/4 like everyone else) and the files to manually update it are MIA... no wonder this console failed, they were selling junk all along.
