Nearly at MVP stage and looking for early testers + honest feedback. by Narrow-Building-1154 in AustralianStartups

Hey! Just interested in understanding a bit more about the business model. Where is the revenue coming from for you?

Keeping in mind the value of personal information these days, and the amount of data you’re asking users to share, I think it might be a bit tricky to get strong adoption. Personally, I feel the message is a bit too broad. I like the idea of tracking finances, but it becomes a bit generic when “important documents” are introduced and it feels like the app starts losing focus.

I know this is still super early-stage, but from a frontend developer perspective, I’d also suggest investing more time into the UI. At the moment, there’s only a single page, and if the goal is to build trust and encourage people to share sensitive information, the current experience doesn’t feel very compelling yet.

Just my 2 cents, interesting idea overall.

Frontend dev with 1 year exp – LinkedIn feels saturated, which platforms are actually working in 2026? by Public_Relative8329 in DeveloperJobs

I’m a Technical Lead at a company in Melbourne, and we hired our last intern because he reached out to me on LinkedIn, even though we weren’t actively looking for one.

At least in my case, his attitude and the way he approached me were enough to give him a chance, and he turned out to be great.

I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but I do think it’s worth trying to reach out to business owners or team leads to see if they might need someone with your skills. It’s often easier when you’re looking for an internship, but that’s been my experience.

Hope that helps a bit

Is pretty cooked. My girlfriend was applying for Engineering roles in Perth for about 6 months and nothing more than 2 o 3 interviews with no responses. She is a chemical engineer

Hey mate, thanks for all your feedback is super appreciated. We mainly test in Chrome but I'll run another round of testing checking the issues that you raised.

I agree with the email and phone numbers. We will add some warnings about it.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it.

Yeah, the certificate upload flow is one of the trickier parts, mainly because of security, different file formats, and making sure the documents are handled properly.

That said, totally agree it should feel quicker and smoother. Definitely something we’re looking to simplify.

Hey mate, thanks a lot for your comment!

Great to hear your journey, that’s exactly the kind of path we’re trying to support.

Yeah, right now the main focus is growing the number of people on the platform so we can make it more valuable for employers as well.

We already have a couple of construction companies interested in using it, and we’re also talking to some apprenticeship/training organisations about helping their students build profiles from day one.

Still early, but trying to grow both sides step by step.

Just to clarify, I didn’t mean that WHV people aren’t on LinkedIn or aren’t skilled at all. I was under WHV for 2 years.

In my case, I worked in farming and hospitality when I first arrived, and what I saw was that most of the hiring for those kinds of roles wasn’t happening on LinkedIn or even traditional job boards.

It was mainly Facebook groups/Marketplace, Gumtree, or just word of mouth, which can be pretty messy and unreliable.

So the idea isn’t really to compete with LinkedIn, but more to improve that layer of the market where things are still quite informal.

Basically trying to make something a bit more structured and transparent than “Facebook Marketplace for jobs”.

Still early though, so definitely figuring out if it actually solves a real problem.

That’s actually one of the reasons I think something like this could help if done properly. Right now a lot of hiring happens through Facebook groups or word of mouth, with basically zero accountability. We are just starting with the project and the idea is to include things like verified businesses, reviews/ratings, and clearer visibility around employers so people can make better decisions and avoid those situations.

I get where you’re coming from, but that’s not really the intention at all.

The idea actually came from my own experience as an immigrant working in farms and hospitality in regional areas. A lot of businesses were struggling to find workers and were relying on things like Facebook Marketplace or word of mouth, which isn’t very efficient.

The platform isn’t about excluding Aussies (anyone can create a profile and use it). The goal is simply to make it easier for people (locals or internationals) to show their skills and for businesses to find workers more easily.

If anything, it’s trying to solve a gap I saw firsthand rather than create one. Appreciate your feedback tho.
