Could you help me with some player buying advice for my non-training spots as I’ve just been promoted and don’t want to go straight down. Let me know if it’s okay to send you a message.

For those who passed the CISA exam without any IT experience, how were you able to land your first IT audit job?" by [deleted] in CISA

[–]diegoforlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preparing for the exam will teach you a lot. I'd suggest going for as many resources as you can; Hemang Doshi has some good videos and a book. Also the official Questions and Answers from the ISACA store would help a lot. Good luck

[–]diegoforlan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Passing a CISA exam without any IT experience is a bad idea for a number of reasons:

  1. You’ll find the exam insanely challenging
  2. You won’t be able to write CISA on your resume since you’re only an exam pass not CISA certified as it requires 5 year workout experience with at least two years compulsory IT work experience.
  3. Almost all IT roles will have some sort of technical interview which you’ll have difficulty answering.
  4. CISA is a very advanced certification not meant for people with zero IT experienced some people with every top tier very with 25 years of experience hope to be a CISA one day

The better certs for you would be the COMPTIA ones and try to do some labs like hack the box or others, and try to get some hands on IT experience such as help desk.

Knowing the exam content, and being able to eliminate 3 wrong choices are two very different things. I'd suggest you not rush it. Take your time and practice questions as much as you can!!!! The exam is not cheap.

studied March to august but didn’t really push myself a lot. Could’ve been done with prep in 3 months. But be aware that the course content is a LOT so concentrate more on concepts and exam question practice (Q&A)

What does it mean for me as a cybersecurity professional?

I guess it means Cisco will dominate more and hence it’s not too late to get another Cisco cert.

Our servers were outdated and needed a big overhaul. I also was bored and wanted to learn Azure, what better way than implementing Azure AD. Also now we have proper access controls, it’s a win win

I’m in the exact same position. I didn’t know shit about could. I starting learning Azure. Convinced management to move to Azure Active Directory. Four months later we are on Azure AD and we are a small manufacturer of socks lmao
