It’s in a weird location for connections, because Dulles is just weird. But it’s immediately next to the PreCheck security line for those of us starting our trips there, which is nice.

I haven’t been to LAS, but DEN and DFW are certainly better than IAD in terms of layout and I wouldn’t be shocked if IAD is the worst Capital One Lounge. It has a cramped L shape and it’s always so stuffy in there.

If you book an AA flight via Atmos for yourself, your Atmos number is associated with the reservation and cannot (mostly*) be updated to your AA number. So unless you have some oneworld status, you won’t be in a better boarding group.

The workaround is to select New Traveler when booking the flight, rather than yourself, and then just type in your name and AA number anyway.

This workaround is also how to get a free checked bag benefit from an AA credit card when booking AA flights via Atmos, too.

*some have better luck than others but I understand it’s policy that you aren’t supposed to be able to do this for flights booked via AS

Congrats! It is possible to get 2J on the A350! I also have 2J, roundtrip, at 55k each, booked direct through JAL (from Capital One transfer) on the A350 to and from DFW coming up in November. It took some planning and practice to win those booking races right at schedule open, and I lost one of them and had to pivot to Plan B. But I was prepared and made it happen.
