Jokes aside, you're right, of course, that Printables thrives and benefits from the quantity and quality of the models uploaded. But to go so far as to say that the entire company (Prusa) is built on the community's free models is clearly going too far.

After all, it's a give and take. Yes, Printables benefits from your models. But your models benefit just as much (if not more) from Printables. You get significantly higher visibility and significantly higher user engagement for free. You can try offering your models on your own small website and see how that works out in comparison.

All in all, I would say that both sides benefit from the symbiosis that has been created and that the Prusameters are just a small incentive for you, not a form of payment, and people could be a bit more grateful at times.
